This loss was well deserved. Starting with an incredibly selfish effort by Durant and extending to abysmal coaching by Donovan. They completely went away from what worked in game 1, i.e. their front line advantage. I think Kanter might have gotten one touch all game on the block, despite the fact that he dominated down there in game 1 and has done so all season.

Well thank God Presti did such a masterful job at improving this roster, right?
Pathetic. Who else came to play besides Adams? Ridiculous.
I mean, Dion, Morrow, Kanter, and Serge all outplayed KD. He just needs to put together a better roster around them

“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Good news is, Durant and Westbrook played a terribly as they could possibly play and we lost by one. They won't play that bad again this series.
That's not cheering me up at all. The Mavs just pulled the biggest upset in over 20 years in the Playoffs according to ESPN. If this roster wasn't complete **** and we'd have a real NBA coach instead of this incompetent ****, we win this game no matter what.
"I don't know of any player that, when the shot goes up, he doesn't want it to go in," Donovan said

Well, at least we (probably) make it out of round one? If a team that's best defenders are Wes Mathews and Justin Anderson can do this to us how ugly will the Spurs series be?

We have to be able to win games while KD and Russ are having off nights. We were able to make up for this kind of ****, you know back when we played actual NBA players and not every piece of trash Presti could get his hands on.

Remember when Scotty was fired and some of us said be careful what you wish for? Presti is getting what he deserves.

I don't think we've ever won a game where they played this badly, and frankly it doesn't matter who plays if Durant does this. We literally would've been better off with Foye and Dion dominating the ball.

Tonight made it fairly obvious that Donovan has no idea what he's doing. Like absolutely none. We went away from just about everything that worked in game 1 and never adjusted the slightest bit.
This might be KD's worst game if his career, but that coaching performance is way worse.
I was quite optimistic Donovan turned the corner after game 1, but after tonight I know he's the Dion of coaches and both of them are gonna kill us this Playoffs.
"I don't know of any player that, when the shot goes up, he doesn't want it to go in," Donovan said

We win this game if our bench features at least two NBA level players and a coach that belongs in the NBA.

Was it me or Matthews did a selective takedown on Ibaka on that final play yeesh.

Honestly, if we had a coach that belonged in the NBA our bench would have at least three NBA caliber players, and a couple others that could play spot minutes.

Sure. Funnily enough, our bench could be improved by playing guys within the roster but I guess that's impossible because a night without Foye is no night at all, right?

I've never been more discouraged by our head coaching situation than I am at this moment. Of course I thought it was pretty clear Donovan was in over his head about halfway through the season and especially halfway through the season when the same issues still arose. He's a terrible coach.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

This was as bad as they could have gotten a game from KD and it was that close. Hoping its better Thursday but have a feeling I'm gonna watch a movie and not be around much tonight.

Scotty wasn't great, but he wasn't this terrible. Donovan may very well be one of the worst coaches in the league. He is literally doing everything wrong. He goes away from everything that works and manages to **** it up even more.

Yeah at this moment I'm pretty sure we have no shot whatsoever at winning the title. I thought nobody could be this stubborn, but apparently this idiot is. Brooks went away from Thabo and Butler in 2014, but Donovan would rather see this franchise crash and burn then adjust his coaching decisions.
In the end it all comes down to Payne. I've been saying it all year long: He's the key to our success. Billy just doesn't understand that.

Morrow, Kanter, Cam is a solid if underwhelming basis for a bench. Dion and Singler could play minutes here and there, same with Nick and maybe Mitch if last season wasn't some major fluke. I mean those guys all played last year (and DJ instead of Cam!) and missed out on the playoffs by a tiebreaker despite missing Russ and KD and Serge and Steven and Robes all for stretches. It's odd that they suddenly can't even compete with other bench units.
That said, KD deserves even more blame than Donovan for this game and I don't want it to seem like I'm giving him a pass.

Did you completely forget Brooks running the same play every time we ran down the court which Memphis was shutting down ever single time?
You aren't winning **** with Russ and KD playing this garbage. No matter what team they are playing.

I know the Dion hate is strong in this thread but am I the only one who thought that was an obvious foul on that that free throw?
