So somehow I missed that Kris Humphries is still on our books for $4.6 million through the end of next year.

I doubt Bogdan comes over yet, if he is still locked into rookie contract (though I don't know if it means he would just have 1 more year on what that contract would have been or what).
We will likely be hard pressed to find many or any really good players to sign anyway, and it might be best we don't have a ton of cap space so we don't hand out the likes of $70 million to a guy like Knight and $52 million to a guy like Chandler.
Very good point. But being McD's contract year do you really feel like he won't try and upgrade the team via free agency?
Oh yeah, he will go all out and try to make a big trade or sign a star I'm sure, and I'm also not sure if he can try to sign someone else, and then go over the cap to re-sign Telly (if he really wants to keep him). I could see him wanting to keep Telly not necessarily as part of a long term plan, but a sniper PF could be good trade bait as well in the future, to add to a potential deal unloading some other guys or picks.
I do love good stretch PF's, but I wish he added more than just that ability.

How much are you expecting to pay Bogdan?

Too be fair he does have a pretty decent back to the basket post game. Where he hurts is on the defensive end. I'd still like to sign him as he seems like the perfect 6th man.

Nope, his contract was unguaranteed for next season.

If we EVER even think about doing that trade I'm **** done with this franchise
Saberestar wrote:The Suns have seven guaranteed contracts on the books for the 2016-17 season that along with the last year of Michael Beasley’s stretched contract, total to $50,291,480.
That gives the Suns a possible $41,708,520 in salary cap space.
The number would have to include the Suns letting go of the last year of P.J. Tucker’s $5.3 million non-guaranteed deal, the last two years of John Jenkins’ $1.05 million per year non-guaranteed deal and the last year of Alan Williams’ $874,636 non-guaranteed deal.
Even if Tucker, Jenkins and Williams were to all stick around, Phoenix would still have $34,482,923 in cap space.
If the Suns hold their current draft position and keep all three of their first-round picks (No. 4, No. 13 and No. 28), their cap space number would be at $28,093,423.
The Suns’ unrestricted free agents are Mirza Teletovic, Jon Leuer, Ronnie Price and Chase Budinger.

Do we have battered wife syndrome with Tucker?
Extreme DUI and almost kills someone. Oh no he made a mistake.
Destroying nachos on the sideline. Oh no problem he will get fit when the season starts.
Clearly doesn't belong on this team. Oh no he is our glue guy.

If Bogdan comes over this summer, he would have to sign a rookie scale contract for 4 years and the same money as 27th pick in 2016 draft.

Next season Knight will (hopefully) come of the bench. Warren will probably also come of the bench. I don't think Suns need 3 6th men.

We don't have Tellys bird rights. Don't think we can sign him with his cap hold, so we can resign him over the cap like we did with Knight

Yeah, then I doubt he'd come over if he only has to wait one more year. If that clause continues to hold no matter when he comes, then at least that slot jumps from prior years, and would again next year, so I guess next year if out of the clause, or when cap and rookie scales jump more, seems to be the right time.

Only if another Star is coming.... As in suns are going celtics 2007 and trade youth for a championship run in the next few seasons.
If it meant Cousins or Durant would consider Suns if they had Harden... Then I would do it.
Knight's contract makes him neutral at best to a lot of teams... Its Booker and all those picks for a 28/7/6 player who is not even in his prime yet.

I believe Maker is as undeveloped as Bender or Sabonis can be. Probably he is more developed already. His physical skills are almost unlimited, while Bender and Sabonis do not have those abilities.
Bender has not made any progress for the last year or so. Neither did Sabonis. And I do not think they will become great players.
I did not remember we had that 12 pick, so I believe we could get him there, but I do not believe that he is not useful enough to be selected at 3. If we have that pick, then we have to use it on whatever player we think we need the most, regardless of the pick.
I also believe it seems stupid to use two picks in two PFs, but I believe it is the position in which we have a deepest need.
Bender will regain overseas for a couple of years, I believe.
1. Maker MAY be more developed than Bender. No way he is more developed than Sabonis (almost 18/12/2 player in his 2nd year in college)
2. Maker has his physical limitations (small hands, frame)
3. Both Bender and Sabonis made progress
4. Bender will play in NBA next season
I still like Maker more.
He can shoot, who any of the other two cannot do at this moment.
Sabonis has not the size for a C, neither the tools and quickness for a PF. He will be a rotation player as maximum.
With Bender I have more doubts. But 7'1'' and that wingspan is difficukt to ignore and Bender is 6'11'' or less and cannot jump that much.

Now is precisely the time to go for Boogie. Once the lotto shakes out and we see where our pick is, we then begin the gifting

Take all the cap space. Sign LeBron and Durant and call it a day.
Bledsoe, Knight
Booker, Bogdan, Archie
Durant, PJ, TJ
LeBron, #5 pick, #13 pick
Chandler, Len,
Hey, there is nothing preventing this except the two players buying in, right? After all, the new coach is now part of LeBron's crew at Klutch.

We will have to give up our unprotected pick + at least one of the Miami 2018/2021 picks or include Booker to even be taken seriously. I know everyone thinks we don't have to overpay and bid against ourselves but no way we can top Ainge's treasurve trove of assets, Kings have all the leverage in this situation and Boogie and can't force his hand. Len isn't appealing to the Kings they have WCS who is a more promising prospect/already better as a rookie, Warren I guess could provide them with an alternative to Gay

You’re either close to the top or getting assets to raise up,” Sarver said of the NBA. “What we want to stay away from is being in the middle for an extended period of time.”

If we don't pick top 2, I'd be ready to offer:
Knight
Len
2016 pick (ours)
2016 pick (Clevland)
I'd maybe throw in Archie, and another pick. But nothing more. It works in the trade machine.
If Sacramento was considering the #2 pick from the Lakers last year and Randle, then I think our offer puts us into the ballgame.
-Watson seems like the kind of coach that can get through to Boogie.
-Bledsoe and Boogie are good friends
-Bledsoe/Boogie/Booker makes a great "big 3" (all from Kentucky)
-We still have cap room
Bledsoe/Price
Booker
TJ/PJ
Cousins/FA
Tyson/FA
I like it.

With Watson being part of Klutch and Ben Simmons' sister moving to Scottsdale, the stars are aligned for us to get the #1 pick.
A Klutch branch opens in the valley!
Rich Paul then controls another weak owner (Sarver) by getting his hooks into him with 2 star players (Bledsoe and Simmons) + the coach.
It's a modern day NBA fairy tale.

Believe it when I see it, we swapped draft position for worse than middle wins in the last week of season.
