If the Raps remain at 9, either trade up using second pick+Ross for Brown/Murray+ contract or trade down for Maker or whomever. The below 8 range is so lacklustre, geez.

I really like this kid and he could potentially sneak into the lottery. I wouldn't be opposed to that. If we can somehow get him at our own pick, it would be a steal especially, if we could stash him for a couple of years in Madrid.

I would love to come away with two of the three in Skal, Prince and Hernangomez.

Re: Thank Nation! Pre-Lottery: Denver 9th, NY pick 7th (PART 4)
I definitely don't think Masai trades back for multiple picks. The Raptors don't need 3 rookies this coming season. They need the best player they can possibly get. The Raptors have 10 players under contract for next season, and that isn't counting Demar and Biyombo, nor any 1st round picks. If Demar stays, add in 2 1st rounders, and you're at 13 players with still a touch of cap space to spend either on Biyombo or another player.
Getting 2 lesser players for one of them to be the 15th man is pointless. If you think you've outsmarted the draft and can get a better player at 15 than you can at 9, then just take that player at 9 and be happy with it rather than chancing another team takes him before 15. Getting a star is important to the Raptors here.

I totally agree with everything you are saying. The only package (of picks) I could see us trading #9 for would be something similar to what Boston was offering to get Justice Winslow last year from Charlotte - a bunch of future picks. If we could trade #9 for two or three future 1sts (maybe one unprotected?) then that would be sweet. Personally, I just love having future first round picks, and I love the idea of having that sort of security down the road if anything goes south, or we get stuck in the 40 win territory.

I doubt the Raps come out of this draft with two first rounders. Either both picks are moved together in a package to move up, or the late pick is traded for a future #1 pick in another draft.

I feel like the Raptors will attempt to trade up, or trade in general, for Dragan Bender.

#15 pic, #19 pick, and 2017 Memphis 1st Rd pick (Protected 1-5)
All Day Every Day...
Will happily take a combo of anyone who slides of Chriss/Rabb/Davis/Labissiere and Luwawu/Valentine... Stash or trade the #27 for future considerations... In 2017 we would have another Three 1st round picks including a Memphis pick has potential to be in the lottery in a stronger draft...
Would be in a fantastic position to be able to let DeRozan walk for nothing without it significantly hurting the franchise.
I agree that I think Masai seriously looks at trading the 9th & LAC 2017 1st for 15th & 19th + Memphis 2017 pick.
Take a PF at 15th best of Sabonis, Rabb & Davis
Take Ulis at 19th but offer Ulis, Ross & Patterson to 76ers for Saric, 24th & 26th
With 24, 26th & 27th get Zizic, Hernangomez & Qi likely all stashes with the exception of Hernangomez.
It does have possibilities doesn't... Denver already has Jokic, Nurkic, Mudiay, and Barton in the fold... Get to add two top 10 picks + either this years #27 or 2017 LAC pick and they would still own all their own picks going forward.
Help me understand the Ross/Patterson for Saric and all the stashes move? Is that not going a little overboard? What makes you think Saric is worth giving up what Patterson and Ross already are? I understand the financial flexibility aspect, just not sure I like the talent exchange...

Ross/Patterson and 19th we get Saric that should be a starter at PF plus we gain significant cap space Saric if he comes over gets 1.9 million on a rookie contract. The stashes Zizic looks like as good a C prospect as any in the draft. Hernangomez might come over he will unlikely ever be a starter but can be that good tweener @ SF & PF. Qi frankly doubt he will ever be a factor in the NBA will stay in China a couple years , play summer league, bulk up basically rolling the dice hoping not rolling snake eyes.

Keep dreaming if you think Masai is loading up on that many picks and young talent.
Those 1st round picks stay on the books and good luck that he dedicates another 3 roster spots to rookies (with 2 supposedly stashed as you're proposing). It's like you guys keep skipping over the fact we already have Wright, Powell and Bruno here. You really think we're using 6 spots for young guys (if those players didn't remain overseas 8)?! That's nearly half the roster on a 2nd place team...let's be serious here, we're not rebuilding so that many young players doesn't make a lot of sense. You think Masai is throwing all these big contracts to Ross, JV, Carroll and soon to be DD because he wants to compete in a few years time?!
Again he's said over and over that he doesn't have the space on the roster for what we already have incoming as draft picks, this seems like complete fantasy 2K thinking, no offense. I'm willing to bet if anything we either package one of our picks to move up or to acquire an upgrade at PF but we're not loading up the roster with kids.

Agreed... there is no point drafting guys that can't make this team, the only exception is if a good Euro is OTB and is under contract so they can wait on him.
The two picks together would get an upgrade of only a pick or two in my opinion. Not saying thats not worth it if a guy is there that we love.

Ya, the Raps have 4 #1 picks over the next two years, plus 2nd rounders. Masai will make moves. They don't have the roster spots (or the minutes) for all these draft picks. I think he will defer a lot of these picks by trading them for future picks.

Definitely not a bad idea to take a Euro draft and stash with the 27th pick. I'd rather it be used to move up in the lottery, but both are nice options to have.
Man, the Masai era really is different from anything we've seen before from the Raptors. We have consecutive years with multiple first round picks available!

On the forums for nbadraft.net they mention how Jaylens Brown lack of feel for the game and mechanical look in his shot n overall game might prevent him from being the star he's supposed to be

Jaylen Brown declares. Time for his partner Tabb to follow suit. I don't want us to be stuck picking Ellenson, Poetl, Skal or Chriss.

C'mon nobody is trading our two best three point shooters. Likely not separately and most certainly not together. We'll pick at 9, likely trying to hedge against James Johnson or Scola leaving.
