Re: No.1 pick
I've still got Simmons a bit higher, although Ingram's fit is a bit more obvious.

1. Jimmy Butler
2. Demarcus Cousins
3. Carmelo Anthony
No **** way you waste your time on a third pick and expect to be taken seriously.
The Laker allure left. They need to get a mf who can actually play in the here and now. Then attach that to Randle and Russel, not Clarkson unless if he's a sixth man. They need to fire Scott and go after a real coach. Nobody worth a **** is wasting their life or career on Ben Simmons or Ingram in this market when other teams have cap space. You want Durant, Horford, Conley, or Derozan types to even hear you out, you better deal that pick for something tangible.
You don't deal that pick and you're stuck. Stuck with a dumb ass coach in Scott. Stuck as one of the worst basketball teams the league is. Stuck not selling tickets without Kobe's name. And you're stuck listening to bs about how Roy Hibbert and Jermey Lin, bloated ass near max 15-16mil a year contracts for binge role players was always something we had in ourback pocket as plan B. And lastly you're stuck with a GM in Mitch and owner in Jimmy who ain't got no juice

Re: No.1 pick
Whoever gets that number one pick is going to be losing sleep at night. One thing that Mitch stated in the exit interview was the Lakers had a decision to make regarding whether to convert D'Angelo into more of a playmaker or a scorer. I think that answer to that becomes more clear depending on who the Lakers draft if they are fortunate enough to get a top 2 pick.

Re: No.1 pick
hypothetically we hit the jackpot and land no.1, I think you take BPA with Simmons.
Imagine how much faster we're going to play next season with all the young legs our team has. You have D'lo, Clarkson, Randle, and Simmons all with the capability to bring the ball up the court and initiate a fast break. Of course we would need to spread the floor a bit. Hopefully Nance can work on taking a few steps back and extend his range into a consistent and reliable three-point shot. All those guys on the floor at the same time would be really fun and exciting to watch imo. The defense might still suck, but we will be enjoyable to watch nonetheless. See what we can do in free agency - derzon, whiteside, bazemore?
That would be my first idea.
My second, is that IF we are lucky enough to get the no.1, then maybe keep an eye on how Cousinsgate is looking up in Sacramento. That's another thought I had. I guess that is dependent on how confident the FO is for free-agency. idk tho, would you offer the 1st pick for Cousins?

We will be lucky to get Ingram or Simmons. Simmons we can develop that jumpshot. Blake Griffin improved his jumpshot and so can Simmons. But I still like Ingram more. He has a higher skill level. He's NBA ready.

Simmons...athletic freak is needed on this team.
Russel and Clarkson can develop shooting and can be above average.. We should look for shooters in free agency.

Re: No.1 pick
If we land the overall pick, we need to explore trade options first. If we could get Cousins or Butler for the Draft pick, then we need to do that.
If not, we should draft Brandon. We need a wing player and Simmons has a higher bust potential than Russell.

I don't get how trading a top overall pick is going to benefit us? DeMarcus Cousins and Jimmy Butler doesn't scream must join team if you ask me...

as nice as they sound on a lakers roster, they scream cancer to me...but one thing is for sure, both guys will play hard and probably not get too engulfed in the 'hollywood' scheme of things like clarkson and young have.

That's my thought as well. I mean, sure adding Jimmy Butler or DeMarcus Cousins makes the Lakers a bit more appealing, but it's not like it makes them the odds on favorite to sign Kevin Durant outright which would be the ultimate goal. I just don't want to see this team mortgage their future to be the Milwaukee Bucks of the West.

Re: No.1 pick
Elite shooters don't shoot %68 on 4.7 attempts per game from FTs. I have serious doubts on Ingram translating his shooting to NBA with that horrible FT percentage. With Simmons shooting is a liability but at least he brings a unique skill set to the table.

You can't be serious when you mention Carmelo.

Re: No.1 pick
you take Simmons on talent alone (BPA), i love Randle but if push comes to shove i would trade him if it meant we could accommodate Simmons, also Simmons might be able to play S.F anyway. But if it was clear he wasn't adapting, i would trade Randle for a young S.F or to get the S.F out of California

Re: No.1 pick
the same as Kilroy's
1. Ingram
2. Simmons
3. Trade for a 1st or 2nd tier player.
But if a team is trading a superstar for the 1 or 2 why not? I'd be happy to entertain that.

And Jeanie as the next Georgia Frontier who everyone hated in LA. Melo we had our chance, and even if did that were still not beating the Spurs or Warriors.
