why hasn't someone put an acapella video with billy mac's play calling yet? It used to bother me when he dragged on a certain player during a play or certain words in a song-like fashion, but now i just laugh.

my only issue with bill is how he gets super excited over the smallest things. cool story bro, u beat the 76ers. sounds like we jus won a championship or something. Stu is stu, i dont mind him terribly. I actually like our radio combo of ireland and thompson more.

Stu could be annoying sometimes with his agendas but he's good overall. I don't mind Billy Mac, he seems to have a good chemistry with Stu and he don't take himself to seriously at all, unlike Joel and Sunderland.

As for the radio guys, Thompson I'd another guy that dont take himself to seriously, he is funny and he don't try too hard to be funny. He's just goofy. I like Thompson. Honestly, I got a real problem with John Ireland. Not only is he dweeby and very painful to listen to, but I got a good bs detector and there is a lot of bs coming from that guy. I don't even know where to start, but I have caught him on countless occasions messing up, not even knowing a lot of the Lakers history, stuff that most on this board would know like the back of our hand. Another thing about this guy is he just trys to damn hard to be PC. There is a lot more too man, but my hands are getting too tired to text. I dont expect the guy to be a human lakers encyclopedia but the guy gets paid to do this job, big bucks mind you. He don't even know much about the nba at all, a lot of folks on this board know a lot more, it's a damn shame. I would like to see Billy Mac move to radio and hire somebody like Spero, Al Michaels, etc. to be play by play. We got nothing on the Clippers broadcast team. There radio guy cone cone be out tv guy. Think his name is Mike Sea man or something like that, he is like a poor man's Spero.

Think Trudell will be on radio call eventually. He's already got his own show with MT on 710

Nah, I don't think he's good either. He's like another John Ireland. I mean, his voice is a little more pleasant to listen too and he may be a bit more knowledgeable but at the end of the day he's just another John Ireland.

The only person I like is Stu (not as much as Joel and Spero though). Ireland is not dynamic at all. He rarely raises/lowers his voice, is mostly monotone, speaks at the same rate/cadence all game. Boring. He just happens to have a good radio voice. Thompson is a good radio guy but a little to fun/unprepared/unknowledgeable for being the color guy. Our current crop just feels like the generic quality of broadcast you would get in a small market like Milwalkee or a college broadcast, not a cream of the crop type you'd think the Lakers/Los Angeles in general could get. Feels budget to me.

These are my feelings exactly about the radio guys. They're fine as talk show hosts, but really miss the mark as the Lakers radio announcers. They sound like they could be doing small market or college games, and I feel like they got picked because they already do talk radio here in LA. They're competent, but don't stand out in any way.

We are spoiled in LA, we had 2 guys (well, still have one) that I would listen to just because I enjoyed hearing them, as well as listening to the games. To me, no summer afternoon is complete without Vin Scully playing out of some neighbor's garage. I guess am I getting old.

I like Ralph Lawler a lot for Clipper games, I guess to me he is like a poor man's Chick Hearns.

John ireland is kinda meh. Too sarcastic for my taste. Thompson is alright as well.

STU is a god. SO damn unbiased it's great. He will tear the lakers a new one if they suck ass. Screw spero for leaving us. :/

I like Mike Trudel. He's young and is more in with the "times" then the other geezers.

I like Stu. Billy Mac? not so much. I prefer Joel over him. I also like Paul Sunderland. I like when he shouts "The Lakersss wiiiin!" every time Kobe hits a game winning shot.
