My opinion is that Korkmaz shouldn't stay in the draft unless it's a stashing scenario. He's getting minutes in Efes on the basis of being Turkish talent (each team has a maximum number of foreign players it can use in domestic competition). There's no way that he doesn't get those and more minutes in the future and he's nowhere near ready physically.

How do you rate Luwawu? In bites he looks and sounds like a Paul George starter kit. Is his floor actually a 3&D wing or is it much lower?

Tough to gauge. I'd like to see him in another environment but that's obviously not happening. The thing that worries my about Luwawu is that he doesn't have a thing he's great at (except for wing size) and his handle is mightily suspect.
He might be a complete 3rd banana, just a guy whom anyone'd love to have on their team like Deng or Iggy or a total average of averages because nothing he does is actually elite.

It is fair to say he will be a D player, so how high he will be drafted depends on if you think his current 3P% is sustainable and how much he could contribute in other areas. He has a pretty strong upside and downside, and his current mock draft position, 10-16 is where I would put him.

As for skills and weaknesses, I think Draftexpress videos of Luwawu are pretty telling, so there aren't many other significant aspects I can think of.

Bucks fan with a question. Would Monroe , 10th pick and a future 1st, be enough for 3rd overall? And if so, would you do it?

Most posters aren't real keen on Monroe's contract. Also the Celtics have plenty of picks so are more likely to consolidate than trade back to get more/future picks. So my take is not interested in that package at all.

Monroe's contract is very reasonable. He can opt out after next year and just from an outsiders opinion to your team, you could sure use a center like Monroe. Didn't you see how he was beast down low against your current big men

I wouldn't even trade Mallory for a young Larry Bird

No, that trade makes no sense for the Celtics. They'll either trade it with others for a star, or use the pick. Trading for an average big man who eats up our ability to sign 2 max FA's and worse pick makes no sense for us.

no. the most valuable asset there is the 10th pick. Monroe is worth a middle first at best and future pick is likely a middle first. You want three, you have to came with something better.

Also the Cs are more interested in combining assets to get a good player, not breaking a good asset into multiple lesser assets.

Monroe would be an upgrade on offense, downgrade on D. not worth a good pick.

If you want to deal Monroe to the Cs, then maybe there is a deal, but its more like Amir Johnson, Jonas Jerekbo (for salary) and 16th and 24th pick. That would be overpay imo, but if something were to happen I would think it would be along those lines.

Luwawu is really starting to intrigue me. It's becoming clear with the Crowder ankle injury that this team desperately needs wing depth. Young is stapled to the bench, meaning we have to play someone like Smart or Jerebko out of position too often. Smart has made it work but long-term, especially with ET a free agent, the team needs some help on the wing.

Agreed. Was really hoping that Dallas pick would be 12 to get him there. I hope we consolidate 16, 23 and 35 into Luwawu's rights.

How good a shooter is Luwawu? Haven't seen him play. We really need a knock-down shooter on the wing.

Pretty solid as a spot up guy from what I gathered. Still developing, but I like a lot of the tools. at worst will be a solid 3&D guy but I also think he could be a colossal steal.

With much less upside, but still interesting is Denzel Valentine. He was kind of a 1/2 for MSU, but due to defensive limitations will probably be a 2/3 in the NBA but he's probably the second best shooter in the draft, behind Heild, a hair above Murray. A little undersized for the 3 (but I mean, so is Jae) but he's got a pretty big frame. I like him at 16. Luwawu I expect to be gone by then.

My Dream:

With the second overall pick the Celtics select Brandon Ingram (future or perhaps immediate starting small forward of the future).

Celtics trade #16 and #31 to move to #13 or #14 and select Thon Maker (Celtics go for the player with most upside).

With the 23rd pick the Celtics select Denzel Valentine or Malik Beasley (Celtics go for wing shooting). Lawawu would be great if we can move up from #23 and grab him.

Is Sefolosha a reasonable mid-line comp for Luwawu? I know nobody wakes up in the morning hoping we have a guy like Thabo, but there's a reason the teams he plays on have always been really good.

I have the same dream about getting Ingram and trading up for Maker.

I like Skal more than Thon if we are going after that type of player.

Thon is taller, longer, is more physical, and now probably stronger. Not being physical is a big red flag for Skal, when combined with his super thin frame. You need one or the other, at the least.
