We can't. We can get 1-3 or 11-14.

Draft simulation :

On my first 2 simulations Lakers drop to 4 so Philly gets their pick. It would be great for us as we would get Lakers 2018 pick that way.

Why is that?

Lottery rules, I am not very good at these lottery rules BUT I think it's like this:

Spots 4-15 I are determined by the regular season standings and only the top 3 are drawn. The lowest 3 teams have the most chances of landing the top 3 spots as they have the highest number of lottery balls and most often do get the top 3 spots, but sometimes a team in the 4-15 range beats the odds and jumps into the top 3 and one of the three lowest seeded teams drops down.

If that's wrong somebody will most def. correct me.

Yup, you nailed it.

I just want the #2 pick i will forgo the odds to the #1 pick for better odds at the number 2 pick. I think Simmons goes #1 so I would be perfectly happy with Brandon Ingram at 2 as I like him better than Simmons. That would be a huge win and help us a lot in pursuing free agents. But that is a dream scenario as I think we are destined for 11(aka punishment for winning the lottery twice) so my goal is simply to see LA lose out and pick fourth as that would then go to Philly, their rebuild takes a hit, and we would be assured of getting a future first so please give us the #2 pick as we should get it for suffering the loss of Shaq and then Howard.

I understand that part, but what keeps us from getting a pick in the 5-10 range. Incognito76 stated we cant, and Im not sure why.

Because only spots 1-3 are up for grabs. The rest are just seeded by record. You can only move up into those 1-3 spots.

So if orlando isnt called by the 11th pick we are getting a top 3?

I want a brownie!

1.) PHX
2.) Philly
3.) LAL
4.) Bos
5.) Min
6.) Nop
7.) Den
8.) Sac
9.) Tor
10.) Mil
11.) Orl
12.) Uath
13.) Phx
14.) Chi

Going Phx because they have never had a number 1 pick in the draft. Seems like they are due for number 1. For some reason I see Simmons in a Suns jersey.

Here is my hopeful order though (besides Orl getting number 1 obviously)

1.) Philly
2.) Boston
3.) Minnesota
4.) Philly

Really any variation of the 1st 3 and Philly at 4. Mainly because I could see Minnesota and Boston shopping their pick to get some more immediate help. Then if Philly gets a top 3 and the Lakers pick at 4 one of those picks is getting traded or one of their young players is. Only so many balls. Just makes the draft more interesting if the tops picks might be shopped. (New York should see if Melo wants to go to Bosotn if they get a top 2 pick. They can build Simmons/Ingram with Porzingis and Melo gets to go to a conteder in the East Win/Win) Plus if they get the Lakers pick don't we get a shot at the Lakers pick next year?
The hero Orlando deserves is out there somewhere, Dwight was not the one we needed. So we will hunt for him...
