Houston Astros 2016 Game Thread

Post#1 » by RaoulDuke79 » Tue Apr 5, 2016 10:34 pm

It begins!

Unfortunately I did not get to see the game today due to work, but it's nice to see they started off the young season with a win on the road. Hopefully they can improve in that area considerably this year.

Go Astros!

So McHugh has a terrible start to his season and a nightmare bottom 1st in general tonight, so inevitably WE ARE DOOMED! THE SEASON IS OVER! OUR TEAM SUCKS!

LOL.

Anyways, Correa is still awesome.

Ex-Astros haunting us tonight as the road woes seem to continue early in this season.

Man, Tyler White is off to a great start to his season/MLB career so far.

On the flip side, the pitching continues to struggle, though McHugh did look quite good last night after his first terrible outing in NY.

Credit to Fiers for settling in and not giving up any more runs after the 3-run first.

Now if only the offense could give us a big inning.

Can we give Keuchel some more run support? It's our best chance to win a game with him on the mound, let's not squander every single bases loaded opportunity please.

Also, George? How about you try just putting the ball in play. It doesn't have to go 500 feet, although it is cute seeing you go down to one knee as you swing and miss whilst aiming for the fences.

Phew! A win!

Keuchel was great through eight, though the offense was frustrating to watch tonight.

Good to see Gregerson come in and have a 1-2-3 inning to end the game against the heart of their order.

I love Altuve, but he makes so many dumb mistakes when he gets on base.

Good thing there is plenty of baseball left to be played. Maybe some day they will finally learn how to win on the road.

Maybe.

God this team is so depressing to watch. How can they be so incredibly bad with RISP?

So many wasted opportunities at the plate this season.

It wouldn't be a true Astros game without them(specifically Altuve) making a dumb out on the basepaths.

Maybe try actually running harder out of the box next time, too.

Makes me appreciate Biggio all the much more.

So THIS is what it feels like to hit with RISP! I have missed that so much.

What a miserable feeling it is to be a Houston sports fan these days.

Seems nothing is going right with the Astros(or should I say Lastros) at the moment.

:(

I need this team to turn it around. I have been counting on them all Rockets season long.

They can't really be much worse in regard to team ERA(26th overall, and dead last in the AL) and hitting with RISP(28th overall, second to last in the AL, and dead last in all of MLB with RISP and 2 outs), so I'd expect them to get it going at some point. I just hope they aren't in such a hole by that time that it is too much to recover from.

Really need McCullers back to help that rotation. Apparently he had a good outing yesterday in his rehab process so hopefully he will be back soon.
