Maker banned.

Just an FYI, there were too many complaints about Maker and it was time for some action. I gave him a strong warning, which was followed up by Howard Mass deciding it was time to just ban him. Thanks for your patience everyone - hopefully the boards will be a little better place to hang now.

I sometimes wonder if he was being real and actually just could never be satisfied no matter what.

I never believed he was real. I thought he was a troll account from Day 1. No one can realistically find that much fault with a team they're supposedly a "fan" of.

Meh, I've been reading the these threads for a while, and I didn't think he was too bad. I'm more of the thought that if you dislike what he says ignore it. He obviously cares about the Pistons somewhat considering how often he posted. Anyways just my thoughts, have a good night.

I don't ignore it because I enjoy making fun of "differing" opinions that have no basis in logic and are blatant attempts to be constantly critical.

Maker wasn't a bad poster just like Izzo is a meh basketball coach.

I had him on ignore but it did me no good because I could never resist clicking to see what he said. He was fun to use as a punchline, but I don't think anyone was ever able to have a serious basketball dialogue with him. He was simply in his own world posting about his hatred for the Pistons, which he somehow mistook for fandom.

I do think it was the right move. If you have a rash on your body and the best thing you can say about it is "well, I can ignore it if I try hard enough" then you might as well just get the cream to make it go away.

Lol dude just because I've just "joined" doesn't mean i haven't read them longer. I get your reasons why you'd want him banned, but i mean aren't you "baiting" or whatever it is by making fun of my name trying to get a reaction out of me? Isn't that trolling? It's rather hypocritical but it's whatever.Regardless it's just my personal opinion on him, and as for Izzo I go to MSU and I like basketball and the name was open.

I made an analogy that I knew you'd understand. If you'd like I can change it to "Maker wasn't a bad poster just like rhodium, platinum and palladium play no role in the alteration of gasoline combustion engine CO2 output." Is that better, pumpkin?

Maybe he's your buddy or other account or something. As you can clearly see if you've been reading these threads, no one other than you thought he brought any value to the forum. And I hate to burst your bubble but when the whole world thinks it's you, it's you.

Well I apologize if that's how you meant it. As I stated, I see why you justify it. I agree with some of makers points although he just goes overboard. Idk the ignore button is a pretty strong tool as stated by snakebites a couple weeks ago. He did hook someone up with a stream to view a game the other day though lol. Anyways I wasn't trying to start anything with yah, I actually really enjoy you as a poster manocad

So this is like a heads up to be on the lookout for the next username he picks...maybe it's Izzite and he's playing the long con, saw it coming and planned ahead. He's gonna lead us on like he's contributing for a few weeks, and then slowly pull us in, and by the start of the preseason....

His BS had reached that point that a suspension or ban was justified though.

You can't say we suck as season and our players are useless then turn around and say you wouldn't trade KCP, SJ & 2 firsts for Butler! If you believe our players are trash then that's a golden return.

Just like you can't say we're a terrible team in every aspect then whine when we're down 0-3 to the Cavs

There's a big difference between having a different opinion and trolling - in the end Maker couldn't keep his story straight!

Eventually he'll be back. We all return at some point regardless of how we leave

BTW - love our Mods!

Full credit to them all for being how they are. Don't want or need Nazi Mods but do want them to step in when absolutely nessasery.

This was one of those times as the board in general was over it.

While some here probably didn't worry too much about Maker's rubbish most did and that's enough of a reason to end him

Can somebody give me an example of what Maker would say which made him ban worthy? I know he was always negative and I don't believe I agreed with his logic ever but being a pessimist with floored logic shouldn't get you banned.

There's only so many "this team sucks" posts anyone can stand. Build a 10 point lead and blow it? This team sucks. Lose a game to any team in the NBA? This team sucks. Make a bad pass or blow a defensive assignment? This team and that player both suck.

It just gets old. He did make one positive post for every twenty negative ones, but it's not like he was bringing any additional basketball insight with his exclamations. There's a big difference between "Reggie Jackson's defense sucks" and "Reggie can't stay in front of his man, always looks tired, and is a serious problem for the future if we want to have a championship-level defense."

Sad to see him go. His posts made me laugh at times. I actually related to a few of them.

People need an antagonist to make them feel like the good guy. Whatever will they do now?

@ Manocad - I am a very pessimistic person. I have to continually remind myself to keep my posts less negative... as not to upset the apple cart.

Perhaps I am just an older, once fanatical cad, who lives in the past and appreciated more dedicated players.

I'll keep my lips pursed, walk on eggshells and continue to add my respectful opinions. But... don't think Maker was one of a kind (if indeed his disposition was sincere). I'm sure there are others who aren't pleased as punch.
