2015-16 English Premier League Discussion (Thread II)

Post#461 » by DD12 » Fri Apr 22, 2016 8:55 pm

Alexis is not a striker. Barca is struggling due to lack of bench depth right now. If he was a world class player, they would never let him go.

Alexis is a very good player but far from being world class. Same goes with kdb, aguero as well. Probably Courtouis and De Gea are the only world class players in that league.

Courtois has been shocking this season. It's easy to be a good GK when you play in Simeone and Mourinho's deep block system.
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.

Barcelona wanted to play with a front 3, no room for Alexis plus they are somehow not financially strong. They needed to sell to bring funds. No point having a 40m player on the bench.

Aguero and KDB are world class. The guy who got crappie here for saying KDB was better than Hazard deserves an apology

But next year they'll have the best managers(Guardiola, Mourinho, Klopp.) which is probably as important as the players.

Ah back with silly comments.

De Bruyne and Aguero are world class and can't even make the best team of the season.

Sounds like the comment from a person not watching the league games.

If Chelsea and Manu were top of the league and they had 4 players each in the team it'd be fine.

And these comments elsewhere about the Prem being weak and the big teams being poor - yet England still have a team in each of the european competitions and neither of them are the best teams in the prem. :banghead:

So what? La Liga routinely have 2 to 3 teams in the semis of the Europa league and have won it 3 straight years, also not with the best teams in Spain. Are we throwing a party over Liverpool making it now.

I'm impressed with City making it this far, but that's the exception not the rule.

It has nothing to do with Man U and Chelsea, these players certainly deserve it but this looks like an Europa league squad more than a fearsome best XI.

Also, there are world class players in England. They all just had injuries or underperformed. Guys like KDB, Aguero, Sanchez are easily world class

When new players come to the fore it's a little impossible to base it on more than one year.

People said Kane was a one year wonder last year and now he's done it again.

Sadly I think he'll be world class rated very soon by the media led fans (he was so bad when he played for Leicester), he's only 22. Dele Alli has been outstanding this year - looks like he'll be world class - he's 20. Kanté, I'd put in any world team, Mahrez has moments of outstanding quality.

If the team read Aguero, Rooney, DeBruyne, De Gea etc... then you and the media wouldn't be so harsh. The fact is extra money has changed the game in the Prem, teams don't need to sell and we have a new young wave of talent coming through. The Prem is ready for a new European wave and England are going to benefit.

That Seasonal teams can only really be evaluated in retrospect or that new young players are not seen as good players until they have more history and the media start bollockhugging?

I thought Mike Dean was a Spurs fan? Denies Sunderland a blatant PK

And he's missed an Arsenal one now

2:0 Leicester.

Think it's over for you. Bottled too many points in the start of the season. That Stoke game when you were up 2:0 and it finished 2:2.

But 2nd place, CL football and finally finishing above Arsenal. Every Spurs fans would've taken that before this season.

Didn't have any hope of Swansea doing anything anyway, they've been gash for weeks. It's not over until it's mathematically impossible. That said, it will be extremely difficult.
