I wonder if Tobias can possibly put on some more muscle. He and Morris are listed at the same measurements, but Morris looks WAY stronger.

IMO, our long term wing rotation is obvious. We need a backup PG but otherwise we are set.

PG: R. Jackson/Backup PG
SG: K. Caldwell-Pope/S. Johnson/R. Bullock
SF: M. Morris/T. Harris/S. Johnson/R. Bullock

Marcus Morris has that goin' to work, Pistons DNA. He reminds me of Rasheed Wallace in that he gets some techs but he protects his teammates. He also plays very hard and doesn't back down. Is he a great player? No, but at 4M per year we would need a all-star talent to trade him (as part of a package). His front court mate, Tobias, does not have Pistons DNA. The guy has looked really soft this postseason. He is very talented so i'm hoping that will make up for it but id rather trade Tobias before trading Morris.

Guys who need to go: Meeks, Dinwiddie, Steve Blake

Should be shopped for an upgrade: Harris (I know people will give me crap for this, but he could be a key piece to getting another Pistons DNA player)

Harris led the team in Rebounding during the Pistons brief Playoff stint.

I really don't want to get into a debate about who exactly is the starting PF on this team. But, I do know that ESPN categorizes Marcus as the PF. His numbers are less than stellar at that position, compared to Harris... who is listed as a SF.

Allow me throw some numbers at you.

At one point late in the season, Morris ranked 70th among PFs for Defensive Rebounding Rate.

Morris is ranked 52nd in PER and 41st in EWA among PFs.

Harris ranked 10th in PER and 9th in EWA among SFs... also, 7th in FG% and 5th in FT%.

While Morris appears to be a tougher defender. One has to wonder why his Rebounding is such as it is. Especially when shown the ability with (4) double digit Rebounding performances. FTR, Tobias had (15)... not including twice in the Playoffs.

Not to sound snide, but maybe you could explain to me why Mr. Morris had one Rebound in his final Playoff game. Because quite honestly, while his offensive performance was rather outstanding, that one stat sticks out like a sore thumb, IMHO.

I don't know what can or will be done in the off-season, but I certainly hope that a little more length at the PF position is in the plans. Then, Mr. Harris could solidify the starting SF position once and for all. Yes, count me as a bastion for Tobias. Without him, I'm not certain the Pistons grace the Playoffs.

In ending, - it is my opinion that Marcus will not be agreeable with a back-up role. So, rather than have an unhappy camper in the locker room, I'd much rather see him involved in a trade. Strike while the iron is hot!
