These days the Princeton is a staple in some way for almost every team. Cuz could help return the high post big man passing any time they choose to use it.

As for Blatt, I don't know. It's always hard to tell what a coach is at the NBA level when he's coming into a pre-built environment. I've seen him in interviews off the court and he seems like a bit of a hard ass with some degree sarcastic wit. That would either work really well, or not. I don't see anything that says "stay away" out of Blatt, so that's good I guess.

Would much rather have Cousins in the post the majority of the time than in the high post.

That was a part of the Kings gameplan back in the day with Webber and Vlade too. It won't go away. I just hope we don't see any more 5 spread offenses or a 4 spread with the only player inside being a lob/offensive rebounding threat.

The problem is our team is nothing like the Webber and Vlade team was other than Cousins.

Very weird that we aren't hearing anything, aside from that Mitchell interview that shouldn't have happened..

I have a theory. No big name wants to be associated with the job if they won't get it. Messina, McHale etc therefore might be negotiating in private if the Kings have interest

The positive is that there is no obvious bait/leverage attempt right now.

Hey I'd much rather Kings start establishing some secrecy... I can be patient.

I can only hope after days of silence to randomly hear "Kings are hiring" versus "Kings are rumored to be interested in"...

With the Spurs closing out the series hopefully now we'll be able to get a word with Messina, who is my first choice of those mentioned and I also believe is somewhat realistic

Yes and Pop is a Vlade fan so I can see him backing up Messina in taking the job. Also Messina offense is based on post play and play inside out: paging Demarcus Cousins.

Well, the LA gig just opened and that could spell some trouble of Vlade is interested in any of the first time coaches like Walton and Messina.

Good to hear McHale on the Kings radar. He's the most logical choice IMO.

Good thing for Vlade is LAL can only hire one of Walton or Messina, if that's his target

Lakers also appear to be interested in Mark Jackson.

It would still blur the process a bit, and might turn it into a settling for type of situation. I'm still of the opinion that it will be hard for the Kings to nab a first time head coach if they are on that upper tier of available candidates.

I still have McHale as my top guy on my coaching list.

Can this be done already? Sheesh.

We only interviewed Mitchell at this point in time? Argh.. We need to hurry this thing up.

That's unfortunate, I was hoping that was rumor

Two in face interviews, with two choices that shouldn't be considered IMO (Mitchell/VDN)

I mean, it is still early but things aren't looking good if the likes of Mitchell (who is a neutral to negative level coach at best & is on record on throwing shade at Kings fans during the relocation saga) and VDN (after being fired, Clippers & Bulls team became a lot better) are our candidates for the Kings' gig.

Mitchell is a hell no from me. VDN is a meh to nah from me (although, Caron Butler had very good things to say about VDN in that short radio interview not too long ago).

It's making me question Vlade's acumen and whether or not we are in good hands with our management.

It's a process, but IMO these guys shouldn't be interviewed

I can only hope that McHale isn't below on the list than these other guys with in face interviews

It also looks like James Ham put up an article (& podcast interview with Jason Quick -- Blazers' insider for CSN) about Nate McMillan. Nothing concrete but as an suggestion by Ham:

http://www.csnbayarea.com/kings/could-mcmillan-provide-culture-change-kings-need

Interesting but it sounds like from what Jason Quick said during the podcast -- McMillan wants to get into a "win-now" or almost "win-now" situation. The Kings are far away from that. So, it maybe a pipe dream for Nate-to-Sac.

I don't think it's the matter of Vlade's acumen or anything about management.

I seriously believe that the perception of the Kings around the league is absolutely NOT GOOD. We are viewed as unprofessional and a dysfunctional sports organization. Vlade is only playing with the cards that he is dealt with, imo.

I would be ecstatic if Vlade can pull off a face-to-face interview with McHale at this point.

Throwing Christie (half joking) or hungry college coaches/assistants is better than juiceless retreads

I see no point personally, but we will see how it ends

We are about a month or so away from the whole predraft process. I'm sure we will have someone by then. I'll give it another week or two before actually panicking haha but rough start tho I agree

We'll see about that if the right coach is chosen. That's the difference maker right there and also why Vlade can't afford to get this wrong. I really hope McHale is willing to interview.
