At this point in time he just needs to be 100% by the conference finals. Maybe hoping the Warriors can win in 7 without him vs the Clippers or dare say it hope Portland can upset the Clippers.

Doc Rivers on Curry: "It happened to us. In 2010 Kendrick Perkins was hurt for Game 7."

I see his point that Perkins had MCL injury and lost title due to injury. Obviously impact is not the same as far as individuals but in the sense could lose title due to injury.

I've come to realize I actually wish Doc Rivers ill.
The way his reputation rose in Boston and in LA puts him WAY out of line with his actual ability to understand basketball and his self-righteousness drives me nuts. If his team loses to a Curry-less Warriors, it'll be karma.

Rivers has been bitter about that Perkins injury since it happened. I'm not surprised he went there.

Doc Rivers on Steph Curry: "I don't want anyone to get injured ever... It happened to us in Boston. No Kevin (Garnett) one year and Perk (Kendrick Perkins) hurt for Game 7 (2010 NBA Finals). It's part of it. It's still a team game at the end of the day but you obviously don't want a guy like that to ever go down."
Not a big fan of Doc, but the quote doesn't sound as stupid when you hear the whole thing

Doc still crying about Perkins' injury in game 7 but fails to mention that the Lakers were missing Bynum and Ariza in 2008, and Bynum was half healthy in 2010
What a sore loser

The news of Chris Paul's broken hand now throws yet another curveball into this postseason. Could be looking at Blazers-Warriors. Portland is obviously not as good as a healthy Clip team but I do think they could give the Warriors a hell of a series if Steph misses his expected 3 games

Curry can now potentially rest until the WCF to heal his knee if CP is out.

They won't need Steph for either if CP3 is out

Re: The Stephen Curry Thread (2015-16 Pt. 2)
I really think the Warriors minus Curry are pretty overrated around these parts. I've seen them floated as a mid 50s win team minus Steph which I personally find a massive stretch. People can point to a sample tainted by a lot of garbage time, but with its admitted flaws the off court sample this season doesn't indicate this squad is remotely on that level. If Steph were to miss the entire second round (i.e. Rest him till the wcf), I think the Blazers series is a toss up

Looks like playoff gods robbed peter to pay paul. Such a weird situation.

I think minus curry they are still a high 40's low 50's team and they'd get him back in maybe game 6 or 7 if necessary and obviously if he's healthy. Blazers SRS is near neutral and Spaceman/Lorak have stated that if curry is the difference between 0 and 10 (or as Doctor MJ thinks 11-12 due to minute distribution and clutchness) that he would be the unquestionable goat by something like twoce as much impact as MJ if not more.

If a LAC GSW matchup still happens I actually think it would be pretty good with both stars out. GSW would be favored but it would be way more interesting than if only Steph was out

Re: The Stephen Curry Thread (2015-16 Pt. 2)
Portland is playing at a 55 win pace after their 15-24 start this season (29-14 to close the year). Included in there was the memorable beat down of the Dubs when Dame scored 50+. If Curry misses 3 games, I'm expecting drama. If the news was worse on the MRI, the Blazers could definitely beat a Steph-less dubs team

Blake Griffin reinjured his quad tonight too. Forget them winning this series at this point IMO, the Blazers advanced tonight. If not, they should hang their head in shame all summer

Oh boy. Curry's got them comparisons going all season long, from Abdul-Rauf to Kendrick Perkins.

I don't think the Warriors are a 0 srs team without Steph, but I don't think it's at all out of the question for one player to have the the type of impact (let alone half the impact ) outlined above. I think we've seen it before. Can't ever convince me the 09 Cavs team has a net positive srs without Lebron and they hovered near 9 with him. I think sometimes stats like win shares can dramatically underrate the impact of the megastar.

I don't think the Warriors would have much of a chance against SA without Curry, but based on how they've been able to get by without him so far, I think they should be favored without Curry over the Blazers or the CP3-less Clippers.
