How many Eastern Conference teams would we have beaten in the first round?
If we had played at the level we did against the Cavs, how many of the other six Eastern Conference teams would we have beaten?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

4. Celtics, Pacers, Raptors and Hornets
You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

2. Hornets and Boston
Cavs are playing really bad defense. I was thinking you could do better with their defensive weaknesses.
Pacers are tough and experienced to deal in the playoffs I think, Atlanta and Raptors- more talented and would win in 7. Miami is better and would win in 6.

Hard to say, This team does have a habit of playing down to their competition. Would they have fought as hard against more beatable teams? We've seen all season how hard we play against good teams and how bad we play against some bad ones.

I think we beat every team except the Heat, and probably the Hornets because we seem to have trouble with them.

I said just the Hornets - I'd like to think Boston too but we seem to crap the bed when we play them

We saw this Cavs team at full effort for maybe 4 quarters out of this entire series. The Cavs are pacing themselves. Other teams don't have that luxury. We'd be lucky to top 2 out of the field.

You can keep believing that. We got pretty close if not the best of the Cavs. They weren't "pacing" themselves. I'm pretty sure they would've loved to blow us out and not have Bron play the 1st or 2nd most MPG in Playoffs so far.

Re: How many Eastern Conference teams would we have beaten in the first round?
I'm really hesitant to say we would have beaten too many (if any) other Eastern conference playoff teams. The bench would have been a problem in every single series and other than game 1 we really didn't shoot very well. Any close games/series and Drummond would be hacked out of the game, not to mention teams like Indy & Boston would be much better equipped to D up Reggie.
Our inexperience, lack of bench and Reggie's Hero Ball late in games are real issues, not to mention Harris had a crap series and Mook disappeared for long stretches. Maybe I'm just the resident pessimist, but I'm less impressed with our showing and think the Cavs hot shooting covered up some real issues with their team, specifically on the defensive side.

Every team except for Atlanta. We just don't match up with them very well. Every other team is doable. I'd say we're at the same level of the 4th team and under. Now of course home court advantage makes a difference.
Defense wins championships

I absolutely agree with that. I'm following after the Cavs for the entire season, they gave all they can and are always prefer to blow out games as fast as possible. They gave the best they can. Particularly the big-3, which was my biggest disappointment from SVG, I thought he could prepare the team better specifically against them- considering the fact that they are not even playing together for large minutes.

I don't know if we would have "won" any of the other series. But we would have won some games for sure.

You don't have to win to see the other team gave it their all or close to. Do you? The Pistons played probably their best ball all year. The better team won. I would've loved to get 1-2 wins. It didn't happen. Cavs looked to be playing very hard. The better team won, can't be mad. If we looked like **** and Cleveland blew us out all four games yeah i'd be mad. No reason to be upset or anything by giving a top 1-3 team in the league all you have and they had to bring their A game too. It's something for this YOUNG team to hopefully build on and bring that kind of effort and play for a full regular season.

There was maybe 1 game of the 4 where the Pistons were even the game in the final 2 minutes. We didn't get the best of the Cavs. It's plain and simple. Not once.

Re: How many Eastern Conference teams would we have beaten in the first round?
Heat and Hornets probably not, they've been on a roll even before the playoffs. Once a team is in rhythm like that, you really can't do much else. BOS is straight up winning with depth and Brad Stevens, who is likely the next great coach in a few years. ATL, we match up terribly against them all the time.
Pacers and the Choking Raptors I think we would have had a great, if not best chance out of all the teams out there.
