Couple interesting things here.

1) They're still using The Wyatt's in the promo material for this event
2) The wording in the summary for this event "Don't miss the first pay-per-view of The New Era"

I'll give WWE credit, the WWE championship match has a great deal of unpredictability leading to the match at Payback. First time since maybe last Wrestlemania where you don't know what the final storyline outcome will be.

I'll also give WWE credit for building a new younger roster. Some of that is due to their older guys getting injured but they've also just done a good job of trying to build a new roster.

Of the 18 competitors on the card, 13 of them were originally NXT competitors.

I've certainly seen worse cards than this...I won't be able to watch but my interest is piqued, especially if the Wyatts really do interject themselves into the proceedings. (Perhaps into the McMahons' segment, which otherwise is incredibly stupid and reeks of the make-ish-up-as-we-go nonsense that's plagued the company for too long.)

I think the Wyatt's are on the poster cause they make these things months in advance. Hell, I think R-truth was on one last year

To be completely honest, this is a better looking card than WM.

That's probably true, and that is a really silly reason to stick with it. They act like they couldn't work up new promotional materials in a matter of minutes if they wanted to.

Since they (kind of) turned face, I'm guessing they're going to interrupt Vince in that segment. Seems way too predictable.

Apparently things changed once Bray & Harper went down with injuries. I think we would've saw the end of the League of Nations at Payback if the Wyatts were healthy.

I think Vince is going to announce the brand split.

Give Steph Raw
Give Shane Smackdown

This seems very logical.

why, why the bloody hell are we having mcmahon decide who he wants to control the company, this better be a brand split announcement or else this is just dumb (yeah give Shane Smackdown and let him have Dean, Zigglypuff, Wyatts, Cesaro, Ru-Ru, Zayn, Owens and maybe Styles, Balor and the Bullet Club and any other misused talent and keep your Reigns, Cena's, Lesnar's and guys like Miz, New Day and the old folk on raw, at least that creates two distinct identities)

Hopefully we get a Balor debuting to screw Styles out of the title, Balor & Co vs Styles has more than enough grounding. Balor can claim that Styles was a failure, play off the fact that he lost to Nakamura in the IC match, failed to win G1 if they can and failed to win back the IWGP world title. That would be fantastic

Enzo & Cass vs the Vaudvillians. Now the money feud would be Enzo & Cass vs New Day for that mic work but they should save it for now. The Vaudvillians have been taken seriously at least (please keep it up, i beg of you WWE), let them feud with the new day for a bit, then Enzo & cass vs New Day as the main tag team feud from june/MITB till summerslam would be great

Natalya vs Charlotte is filler. I'm sorry but Natalya, whilst being great in the ring has no charisma. Natalya to take the L most definitely (Charlotte is getting a long reign, too long actually but she has been great as a heel so fair play to her, they still need to build more than 1 woman's feud, maybe a Paige vs Emma feud on the side, or Emma vs Sasha or Becky would be brilliant, hell Sasha vs Paige would be a great match, though wouldn't give up Paige vs Becky, given their history that is a Wrestlemania matchup, with or without the title)

Ambrose vs Jericho went from being rather stupid, fun but stupid; to being a really good feud in one raw. Ambrose brought intensity and Jericho has been GOATing it up as a heel. Sorry Hunter has nothing on him as a heel, Heel Jericho over almost every heel on the roster (only Owens is a better heel)

US Title match, meh. Poor Kalisto has been the victim of some horrible booking, ironically enough this has been the worst title booking since Ryback's IC title reign, think the big guy should get the title and go full heel and get back to rybaxel/bully ryback, just in time for Cena to come in and those two can have a program till Summerslam to elevate that title again

Sami vs Owens has been damn good, the video package they showed was a great way to build it up. These two should feud till Summerslam for sure, screw it make it a best of 5 or 7 (depending on how many PPV's there are between now and summerslam)

Ziggler vs Corbin has been alright, good feud to make Corbin strong, Ziggler has done a better job here than in a lot of his feuds. Still though, if Ziggler still cares about wrestling outside of making money he should have left last year and gone to New Japan or some other promotion, I know given New Japan was screwed earlier in the year for stars, Ziggler as a top gaijin heel would have made him a ton of money. Anyway on topic Corbin will probably go over in a good match

The problem is that the only unpredictability is "how will AJ Styles lose?"
