From those young power forwards, who would you try to sign?
From those 25 and under power forwards who would you offer a contract this offseason?

Raptors will go after Canadian Dwight Powell. Hopefully they can get him on a reasonable contract.

Motie for the Pistons, just to tweak Morey.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Dmo without his injuries has the highest ceiling out of all of them. I'd sign him.

Powell.
Would've picked Dmo if he didn't have back issues.
Once dwight started having back issues his career has been going down.

Motiejunas is a different tier compared to the other three.

DMo, Powell, Sullinger, Jones in that order.

It's a shame; DMo obviously has the most potential of the bunch, but back issues are a career killer. At this point, I'd probably vote none of the above.

Re: From those young power forwards, who would you try to sign?
I actually see TJones revive in a different environment. The guy is bulky, athletic, can somewhat shoot threes, got handles (used to play PG in high school). He just got some really unlucky injuries at crucial time then lost in the lineup. On a cheap contract, I would pick TJones considering all his injuries are pretty much fluke ones, except that nerve issue.
and Sullinger's weight issue is as bad as DMo's back so I stay away from him too.

I pity the team that offers Sullinger a long deal. Dude could eat his way out of the league in the next 3 years.

For Portland specifically I think Terrence Jones would be an amazing fit. His game is ideal for screening and cutting and hitting the open 3. He's a good offensive rebounder and a good interior defender. I also expect him to be cheap meaning we can have a lot of money for other free agents. He's from Portland so that is also very positive for both parties.

Sullinger is easily the most talented of the four. Unfortunately, he seems more committed to food than to basketball.
Powell's fairly mediocre, although given the Mavs' situation, I can understand why their fans need him to be so much more than that.
Donatas Motiejunas is Andrea Bargnani with a bad back. No idea what everyone sees in this guy.
I'd probably go with Terrence Jones. Sure, he had a bad season, but he was excellent in three prior seasons. I'll wager that he returns to form, or even better, if made a starter.

Re: From those young power forwards, who would you try to sign?
I'd go after Powell. All of the other guys have questions marks but Powell is a worker with a well rounded game and room to improve. He'd also probably be the cheapest option.
If it wasn't for the injuries I'd go with Motiejunas, but yeah that back is concerning.

Re: From those young power forwards, who would you try to sign?
It would be and easy obvious choice with Dmo but the back injuries scare me off. I'd go with Powell with the thought of him being a guy that can give a solid 20 minutes a game. If I'm signing one to be a starter then I will pass in all of them

Powell is the most intriguing. Who knows what he could become

DMo, if there's any chance of him being healthy.
