Re: 2016 Draft
That last sentence about Dunn scares me...sounds like Knight...he almost sounds like a Bledsoe/Knight combo with a little more size. If that top 15 or so hold, I think if we got Simmons, I might think about Valentine. I just love his versatility. Talk about ball movement if we got Simmons and Valentine (we would have a team full of guys who could pass, which would be nice, and it seems like he could play a few positions. I wonder why Luwawu is so low here. I would have said him at the second spot. Maybe another PF if we get Simmons, but less of a need.
If we got Ingram, I'd probably go for Davis with the second pick, or Sabonis if he is there. Labissiere is intriguing, but without a PF with the first pick, it would be tough...I think of him more as a long term project, but I guess one PF in the draft is better than none, though we could go with one at 27. Bentil or someone younger with more upside.

Eff it man. If we end up No 4 I say we take Jamal Murray. Trade Bledsoe to the Knicks for their 2018 pick.

Murray is not a PG on either side of the ball. That's not a great idea. If Murray is BPA, trade the pick.

Yeah, Murray seems to me a pure SG that can play some minutes here and there like a PG if needed, just that.
I don't like him a lot like a prospect because of his poor overall athleticism and his low release on his jump shot. IDK if he is going to be able to shoot over long/athletic defenders.

Re: 2016 Draft
Picking Murray would be the most Sunsy thing to do, and would make lose the little faith I have left in McD. Honestly wouldn't even touch him in the Top 10. He is getting crazy comps like pre injury Eric Gordon/Brandon Roy he is more like a shorter Mayo with a brain. He onyl effectively ran the point for Canada in the Pan Am games, which are basically friendly scrimmages. Coach Cal gave up on that experiment and handing all playmaking duties to Ulis, yet Murray failed to register a AST/TO ratio that broke even.

Well, smart players shoot when they're open, not when there's long/athletic defenders on top of them

Who are we trading the pick to and what are we getting back?

I'm praying that if we don't end up in the top 3, neither do the Nuggets. That team has a huge hole at the 2 and desperately need shooting. They have plenty of picks and spare parts. I think we could get a pretty nice haul from them.
Boston was willing to give up 4 picks to grab Winslow last year. I imagine there could be a pretty decent package available for a SG, perhaps the most prized position in the league (other than a stretch 4) at the moment. Depending on the circumstances, I could see Philly and Boston putting together a decent package - or, perhaps, a team looking to rebuild offering established players. Kinda lucky that the three young teams most loaded with future picks (other than ourselves) are each in need of a 2 guard.

It strikes me that a lot of the criticisms being levied upon Murray are very similar to those mentioned with respect to Booker last year. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he's just about as good on the pro level.

Philly maybe if the Lakers pick doesn't convey to them. I don't know about Denver, Gary Harris is NICE and could be a long term solution. I can see them taking Brown if he falls to groom under Barton.

I'm surprised you're very high on Harris. Dude looks like a mediocre career backup to me.

Gary Harris and Will Barton have both played well at the 2 for them. According to this depth chart, 2 was their deepest position, though center, is their deepest with really high quality. http://espn.go.com/nba/team/depth/_/name/den
They both shoot around 35% from 3 so they could improve that and get a better shooter, but they also might want a younger backup pg like Dunn.

Hopefully our oversees scouting department caches up. Nuggetshave struck gold finding late round Euro bigs, Jokic, Nurkic and Laveurgne. Hopefully we do the same with some combination of Zizic/Zubac/Cornelie to eventually challenge Len

Elite 3&D specialist who is at least a serviceable starter. Drastically improved in all facets his sophomore season and can hit the trey at close to 40% on a significant clip while being a stopper on the perimeter

Re: 2016 Draft
Gary Harris is legit. Liked him coming out of the draft. Great role player/glue guy potential. Wesley Matthews Lite.
Nuggets got a steal in the trade with the Bulls- Nurkic/Harris for Dougie McBuckets.

Yeah was wondering who it was for us that year with our 2nd pick between Harris and Hood but of course it was Ennis.

For me it strikes me that even if Murray was a clone of Booker he would likely be behind Booker, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Knight for playing time at shooting guard (really our deepest position) and since he doesnt offer any additional value over the people why would you even think of picking him up? Is someone going to trade us a promising young power forward for him? I dont think so. Taking best player available is the answer when it would yield a star player or something that you could turn quickly but this team needs players that are a couple spots behind your best player.
Just say no to idiots!!

I disagree philosophically.
I cannot imagine Ryan McDonough coming out and saying we passed on BPA because we didn't think they were that good, so we went to fill a position of need, with likely the highest pick in franchise history.

If Murray is that good, then we'll naturally move Bogdan and Knight to give him minutes.

If Murray is that good, then we won't be the only team that thinks so, and we'll smartly field terrific offers for the pick.
...
That said, I'm now fully on board the Draft Ellenson bandwagon. If we're not 1 or 2, just pick Ellenson. I change my mind a lot, but I've made up my mind on this one. He just makes too much damn sense for us. And I said that the SG was the most coveted position in the league - aside from the stretch 4/5. Well, that's Ellenson. He won't ever slide over to 4, and he's not going to guard the perimeter, but he's a bully inside with long arms, handle and the ability to hit the 3. He's a helluva lot like Kevin Love, only bigger. That's my pick.
