This time he actually steered away from the guy who'd show up to camp in a full body cast.

I've had a 4 hour boner over Jack, and passing on him made me quite flacid and disappointed. At least the above article does help with the blue balls.

Kenny is a safe pick.

Although I hope somehow we can grab Ragland or Jack in round 2 or later.

I'm surprised Ragland dropped out of the 1st round. How much would it take to move up and take him? I can't imagine he's going to last very long tomorrow night.

As for Jack, I'd take a pass on him. Sounds like that knee is really screwed up. It's too bad that highly skilled linebackers like Smith and Jack got hampered with injuries, because they have incredible talent.

How bout since we're not interested in anything rounds 1-3 ILB anyway, we just draft another DT, switch to a 4-3 and call it a day?

Good God, this Tunsil thing is nuts. Now coach giving him money or something? Is Ole Miss gonna get NCAA-screwed now? Just nuts.

Based on the value chart, if they wanted to move all the way up to the first pick tomorrow they'd have to give at least their 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

Ragland, Jack, and Smith are all there, I hope we take a gamble on one of them at some point. We desperately need to upgrade talent at LB. I don't mind trading up to get Ragland.

With Billings, and A Shawn, and Chris Jones, and Reed all available, it could push Ragland down further. Maybe we can pick up Ragland around 40? How much is that?

3rd and 6th

Edit: Maybe a 3rd and a 5th. The chart doesn't factor in compensatory picks.

If Ragboy is bad in coverage, he's not the answer in a 3-4. Need a guy who can cover solidly. The outside guys can rush, as can the DL potentially if Clark is the real deal and gets penetration too. Then, if he also contributed to making Jack, he should be able to do it as well with our LB's. Don't know if we need a downhill thumper, then. Ryan can serve that purpose. If there is a good coverage ILB who is also a solid overall prospect still left, that's who I'd take. Otherwise semi bpa, wait, and take 1-2 flyer ILB's later.

Of course what they should do when they are Super Bowl contenders is pick up a vet ILB still, but sadly he probably won't do that. I don't think Cook on one side is enough. Needed to address a glaring need on both sides, and ILB was the more important one.

I'd take my chances with Jack's knee to get five good seasons out of him versus Ragland's aorta. I think Ragland will be there when the Packers pick in round two. Maybe in round three as well.

Yup. I think all of us here have ranted one time or another about our LBs trying to cover and just looking foolish. Especially on crossing routes.

Jack looks like a super stud. You think he lasts to 54? Or trade up and get him?

Really wish we signed a Trevathan or even a Dansby, rather than Cook. Would have allowed us to draft Smith in the second and redshirt him.

Anyways, tomorrow I have no expectations. Won't really be upset with any position we draft unless it's a QB, K or P. WR would be somewhat questionable I suppose, but we all know Ted just lets his board do its thing.

I just don't see a ton of value taking an RB at #4. Lack of a run game has not been the Cowboys problem.

Doesn't help that RB's picked in the top 5 have a terrible track history recently. Why spend your top 5 pick on a RB when you could realistically find a better player in the late rounds? Drafting a RB in the 1st never makes much sense to me

I'm not as high on Smith as a lot of people. If you watch his highlights he does a lot of waiting for the play come to him rather than attacking. Very AJ Hawk-like, although he does cover better than him.
