Good effort by our guys tonight. A lot of them showed heart and I appreciate it. There was a tall task ahead of them after Blake and CP3 went down, but they didn't willingly lay down and die. They gave what they had to give.

Much respect to Austin. Like him or not, he gets way more grief than he deserves as an NBA player.

It's a disappointing end to a season of disappointments, but it what it is. There will be a lot of changes taking place throughout the entire league this summer and some of that will be reflected here as well. Will the cap going up benefit the Clippers at all? What type of contracts will start commanding? Who's opting out/in? Will Pierce retire or continue to try to play? Only time will tell...

Austin Rivers still isn't a great player, but he earned a lot of respect from me as a Blazer fan tonight. Dude is tough as nails and a better defender than I expected.

I feel bad you guys had such a rough series from injuries. I know that may not mean much coming from a fan of the opponent, but I was really impressed by the Clippers scrappiness even after CP and Blake dropped.

Good season, unfortunate post-season...

These guys have been through too much together to tear them a part now. I'm looking forward to watching these guys try to climb that mountain again next season.

Thanks to the Clippers for giving me something to cheer for, it was fun.

Its sad seeing two of your best players get injured. Lately important players go down in the playoffs and that hurts the game especially when they are this important. I wish the NBA would sit down and decide to play 8 less games in the regular season to limit injuries to key players. 8 games do make a huge difference I believe and would help the game. Anyways, wish you guys the best going forward and Clipps played a heck of a game tonight without their two stars.

My Diary - My Last Post

Post#108 » by Wammy Giveaway » Sat Apr 30, 2016 6:47 am

This has to be one of the most painful losses I have ever experienced with watching the Clippers tonight. They always seem so close, but when it comes to seizing opportunities, they will always end up far, far away from their reach. It makes me wonder if the franchise will ever have a championship to call their own. Maybe it will never happen for them. Maybe they will end up like the Montreal Expos who had a one-season wonder in 1981, but then faded away into contraction in 2004. Someday, the Clipper's tears will taste of sweet unbridled joy instead of sour pain.

Prior to the start of the 2015-16 season, I've been contemplating as to whether to continue watching the Clippers exclusively. I've seen a lot of good moments, like their crazy first win against the Thunder in the lockout season, the miracle 27-point come from behind victory, the vanquishing of Donald Sterling, Chris Paul's first series victory against the Spurs, and so much more. I've seen the worst moments, but those will be left to memory. The Clippers have inspired me to bring back my podcast, and I somehow found myself working on a metric that would once and for all analyze defensive plays the correct way.

After much personal deliberation, I've come to the conclusion that this will be my last season watching the Clippers exclusively.

Even with all the hell they have gone through, and even with all the stuff you had to put me up with as far as being a member goes, the Clippers taught me a lot in terms of life lessons. I am still learning those same lessons on a daily basis, successful or failed; and even in my stupidest, dumbest, conspiratorial "Oddity Archive" level moments, part of me makes me still feel connected with the Clippers. Maybe not with the fans here as I always seem to alienate them in inopportune moments for obvious reasons, but in the grand scheme of things, just wanting to a part of something. To be loved and accepted, just like what the Clippers always dreamed of doing.

When I leave this place, the one thing I'm always going to remember is that I have the pride of an underdog. I may be weak in every facet of my fiber, but my heart will always be strong. I have my own dream I need to achieve, and I won't stop for anything until it finally comes true.

Before I go, I would like to issue an apology to every single Clipper fan here who I have either offended or hated on. I am sorry for all the bad things I have done here for my own personal gain. This means Neddy, Illastrate, Matt, Nick, OG15, Tha Numba, and especially Ranma.

Ranma, I am sorry for asking a question in one of my posts relating the Clippers loss to the 3-1 omen. I noticed that you never replied to it, and it got me thinking that I finally went too far. You were one of the only people who seemed to stick up for me, giving me And-1s. I was just trying to keep myself engaged in basketball, and I got caught up in that. For that, I am truly sorry.

Mods, if you want to ban me from the forum, I completely understand. I need to save myself before I do any more harm here. But whatever I picked up from here, they will always stay dear to me.

Guys, it's been a fun ride. I appreciate your hospitality here. It really turned out rough the more I got deeply involved with the team, but learning about the Clippers and watching them play has made me love sports more than ever. In the past, I used to brush it off because it was meaningless. Now, I find myself investing in it, be it basketball, baseball, football, and even hockey. It's one of the big reasons why math has came back into my life. Even if the Clippers forever lose, they will always be there to teach me lessons. And for that, they will always be winners in my book.

Thanks everyone. I'll see ya.

I must say I am not a fan of Austin rivers but he has improved some over the season and tried very hard tonight. he just might be able to make it as a second unit pg if he can learn to pass and run an offense.

Fewer games wouldn't have helped. Blake got hurt 30 games in, which is what he tweaked, and CP had a more freak accident injury. Sucks, but fewer games wouldn't have helped the Clippers at least.

i know i crap on doc more than most other guys but it would have been a cool thing to see doc hug him there or something.

i kinda hope austin stays if he can keep improving his game. i don't think you can have both austin/jamal on the same roster but austin only? if you have another PG on the roster who plays? sure.

Hey guys, mad props to the Clippers for a hard fought series. I'm not a Doc Rivers fan (although I liked him as a player) and I gotta admit, I've never thought much of his kid. I saw a little different Doc last night, one I might not dislike quite as much (hahaha). However, the kid earned a name last night. Austin Rivers showed me a lot with his performance. He could have taken the easy way out after getting injured, but he kept the Clippers in the game with this scoring in the 3rd quarter and his defense throughout the series. Big props to the players who nearly took the series back home for a Game 7. Good luck over the off-season and maybe these two teams will meet again in the post-season.

I actually really enjoyed seeing both teams spend so much time together on the court after the game. A lot of teams would have just walked off. A lot of class by the Clippers players at the game (applaud).

His posts were always very rambling and nearly incomprehensible. Also, he never really was a Clipper fan- seemed like he mainly tried to troll the fanbase

Sorry, dude. I might have missed that particular post. While I try to respond to posts that are directed to me, I might miss a few since I don't always read every post in every thread, especially if I'm not quoted to alert me that I've been responded to.

In any case, I appreciate your efforts and the research you do with your theories even if I don't agree with them generally, which is why I give you the and-1's, especially if I find them helpful in other trains of thought that were not originally proposed by your posts. I'll see if I can respond to the post in question if I can find it, but if you want to bring it to my attention, please quote it into this thread so I can keep an eye out for it.

Edit: I think I've found it and just responded to the post in question in the thread it originated from.

You did not do anything that deserves banning lol. You have interesting theories, sometimes they make me laugh, but the effort was there, and you prevention metric is cool. Though I know some are not fans of your interesting ways, you're not universally hated or something.

I'm at least glad the Clippers inspired you in their own little way, lol

I'm glad there was also respect shown from both teams after the game was over. Not that I thought the series ever got particularly chippy, but I think the Blazers also recognized the situation the Clippers were in even as they smelled the opportunity to move on (not insinuating that you only won because of injuries, I think getting Game 3 was huge for you guys and we missed an opportunity to really show our strength after coming out strong in 1 and 2.)
