Can't ignore structure when it benefits you and expect the players to follow it at other times. Those two games you're inferring Vlade didn't want to lose ended up costing the team x10.

Interesting article by Voisin interviewing Karl. Ignore Voisin's typical garbage and skip to the Karl quotes.... He says Cousins and Gay don't work, Vlade should trade one of Collison, Belli, or McLemore, and says Vlade needs to make sure he empowers the next coach.

Can't say I disagree with any of that.

Wow, for someone talking about 3 guards not working he sure seemed to like those particular lineups. :-?

Sounds like Vivek needs to be listened to hear if the rumors are legit.

Don't you see? Karl was just trying to keep everyone happy. He's not to blame here! Hahaha

Blatt coming in. Looks like we are speaking with the big names.

The Kings now have the advantage, all the other easy gigs have dried up.

I'm not totally sure on Blatt, I know he has Princeton ties and could make use of some of the unused talent/skill on the team. It's just hard to judge a coach like him because he's still an unknown and was fired from a situation that did nothing to establish either his coaching skills or lack thereof. Also is he just using this to get the Knicks to pony up?

Not sure how legit it is but this could be Blatt using the Kings to get his Knicks deal done pronto.

The Knicks interviewed Blatt on Monday, and on Sunday a report from SNY correspondent Tommy Dee indicated that the sides were close to finishing a deal.

A source close to the situation tells me Blatt to #Knicks "is close."

Saw someone else point out Blatt struggled to stand up to LeBron's passive aggressive attacks. Hard to think Blatt would be able to handle Cousins aggressive nature.... But who knows really.

At the end of the article, there is a podcast link with Woj & Ewing. I'm 15 minutes in, and I like what I'm hearing so far.

There is a part of me that won't believe fully in McHale's interest until I see the interview. He has some cache after his Houston stint, and maybe can be selective

i don't mind having Messina..he is a great coach and being an assistant with the spurs is definitely a plus.. he doesn't have the years as an assistant coach in san antonio like budenholzer had,but we can hope that like budenholzer he can change the kings culture.

Karl was right on the money with that interview.

I'm glad we're having a word with Messina

Is this precedented, the amount of interviews and "search everyone" thing. Who has concrete interviews this week? Ewing, Messina, Blatt, McMillan, even Elston Turner?

City of Trees wrote:Kings have one thing going for them: supply and demand. Vlade can thank Brooklyn and Phoenix for going with what I would consider Coaches who weren't on Vlade's wish list. As the number of teams looking for a coach shrink, the big fishes in the free agent coaching world may reconsider their demands or priorities. Kings may get lucky by taking their time with smaller fish in the beginning and circling back to the big catches later on when leverage has shifted. As for Woodson, he's not one of the first three so can we all agree his name was mentioned by Woj first because MW's agent made a phone call?

There will be a new name everyday until a coach is hired. Don't get so attached. At least that's my approach.

I still like McHale Ewing and McMillan the most. I don't think blatt is a fit for this team and roster. Messina might be good but full disclosure I know nothing about him.

Hopefully they make a decision soon though.

I honestly don't believe a word that comes out of Karl's mouth. His history of alienating his star players goes back much further than cousins alienating his coaches. I'm not saying the situation in sac isn't somewhat toxic, but karl only added to that problem.

Agree with most of it. Don't love McHale (as a coach), but I don't think he's bad. Him or Ewing with Boogie would be cool. Ewing deserves a shot, I just don't know what he's gonna run & as a rookie coach, so many questions (not what Sac needs right now).

I'm not high on McMillan though. Over him & that whole wave of old school coaches from the 00's. Rather give it to chance that Messina or some other rookie coach pays off.

That said -- I really like Blatt. I agree with his offense not a perfect match, but it wasn't a greatt match in Cleveland either. & If egoman Lebron let Blatt do his job, i think they woulda been better (& they were already good). - Don't think he's a great fit, but I do think he's a good coach & prob be my #1 choice if he's interested.

*Edit* - Karl is salty. Always been just a pure hater. Such a liar too. I never liked him. I bet he was more of Sac's problems then talked about.

Sounds like Vogel may be out in Indiana. He has to be the best available coach the second Pacers let him walk. Knicks would be the favorite to hire him I'd think... But also Indy's vacancy becomes an attractive landing spot to a coach who might have been thinking about the Kings.

Not my money so its easy for me to say but I'd overpay to hire Vogel. Vivek should top whatever the Knicks or Houston wants to pay him.
