If he can be had with the 25th pick, that would be great, then with the 33rd pick the Clippers can look at someone like Brice Johnson or on of the other bigs, or even another wing like DeAndre Bembry. I'm a big fan of guys who can become great role players with picks like these as opposed to trying to find the next star and getting a guy that doesn't contribute.

Another thing I like about Prince from what I'm reading is that he's got a "mature" body, and he has a good mix of size and length where he can play as a small ball 4 and will not be overpowered. I don't know much about him in terms of personality and such though, so that could be a factor.

Yeah Prince is my guy too, he just seems to have pretty high floor with some upside to reach a decent ceiling, and he'd fit like a glove for what we need. He might not be there at 25, but I don't mind using both picks in a trade to get him.

If we keep 33rd, I like Levert if he falls because of the injury, or Onuaku or Diallo as defensive bigs.

On another note, I saw Dejounte Murray currently ranked 33rd, and is it just me or does the description of him and the video footage remind anyone else of Jamal Crawford? lol

Anyways, continuing, I'm a bit partial to the other guys who will be more ready to contribute though while still having some upside. That's why I like Prince and also Bembry as young wings who can mix it up on the glass and have potential on defense and solid potential two way wings. They don't have any star potential, and maybe they are "safer" picks, but that is not a bad thing necessarily.

Another guy that seems interesting is Petr Corneli as a big who can shoot and is also mobile and "shows great potential defensively", but with his thinner frame and foul prone nature, he seems like a guy that will need more time.

I like the plan of trying to stock pile the wings, but the problem is that based on the current rankings, those are the only two wings I'd really want the team to get. The other guys don't intruige me as much when it comes to defensive potential.

With you on Prince, he'd be a great fit here. Denzel as well, but there's no way he falls that far. Luwawu would be another wing I'd target.

Dejounte Murray is basically an exact Crawford replica. Better passer, but under Jamal's tutelage, won't ever pass.

At #33, I'd love to get Ben Bentil. Absolutely love his game and his motor. Taking a flyer on Thon Maker would be fine if he drops that far, which is doubtful. Joel Bolomboy would be a decent snag.

If it's a guard, give me Melo Trimble at #33.

I'd also love to buy a late second and get the rights to Stefan Jankovic, give him a chance during Summer League/Training Camp at least. I loved watching him for Hawaii all year, and his jumper is wet. If he can put on some weight, he'd be a real solid stretch four for years.

I watched Dejounte in Jamal's summer league last year and yeah the kids a clone of him lol. I'd pass on him honestly. I think at this stage we need to draft guys who can fit our system. I would love for us to target a 3 and D guy at 25 like most of you are suggesting and then hopefully a back up center at 33. I really like Caris LeVert as a bigger PG we can develop to challenge GS's bench height, but his injury history concerns me.

Yea, I read the stuff about Dejounte, watched the film, saw that he was from Seattle, and just thought, "this guy probably idolizes Jamal". Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't, but the game is the same. I hope that doesn't fool Doc into trying to replace Jamal, that would be really annoying. After reading and looking at the film, I just though, "nope, not at all".

The idea of trading both picks to get him crossed my mind too. Right now he's projected at 22nd by draft express, so I'd think anywhere from 19-24 is about his range. If he drops it could mean he's doing something wrong, or teams really went after some different guys, but I can't see him getting past Boston. So if he isn't going to drop, he might even rise, who knows, then the Clippers need to be working teams like Indiana (20th) and Denver (19th) as well as Atlanta (21st). Seems like a guy that would make sense for Charlotte with MKG's injury history, and also seems like a guy Boston would like, so might have to snag him before those guys.

Im a big Dejounte fan. Lots of upside there, but needs to get stronger and develop a jumper. Issue is that I have no idea where the future of the franchise is headed.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

NBAdraft.net has Prince falling to us at #25 now :-D
They also have guys like Beasley and Murray a lot higher than most do, and Luwawu in the 2nd round, so not sure how reliable it is. But Draftexpress has him going to Atlanta at #21, and the Hawks are a good candidate to accept our offer of #25 and #33 for their pick. I think I'm gonna enjoy draft night like I hadn't in while.

I've only seen him on youtube videos and the mainstream scout recaps, but D.Murray looks like the classic Dajuan Wagner/Juan Dixon kind of combo guard whose game has problems to translate to the pros, I don't like him at all. Same for Maker, he seems like the kind of overhyped long term prospect that requires too many years and resources to maybe not amount to anything ever. And we don't have the development resources that other teams do, so he'd most likely not work out here.

Pope has the size, length, athleticism, good form on the jumper and virtually nothing else (at least not developed yet skill wise or tenacity/mentally). Thats a pure upside pick though, which is interesting.

I'd be more hyped for the draft if we didn't have a "coach" who's guaranteed to glue whoever we pick to the bench, make sure they don't amount to anything while they're here, and then sell low on them at the deadline in return for another old fossil from his Celtics days.

I don't know a lot about Pope, but I wouldn't go for that sort of upside pick. We don't have the greatest history with player development, specially fringe players, so I hope we go for something more ready.

When's the date we know who's definitely declaring and who's coming back to college? it sucks that our season is already over and we have to wait two months for the draft still.

Yeah, our player development hasnt been good, but we do need to take a shot on some upside guys. I just dont think doing that with a 2nd round pick makes sense for Doc. In all honesty, the upside guy should be used with our 1st, because then we have four years to develop him. The 2nd round pick should be someone that can come in and try to fill a role off the bench.

The early entry withdrawal deadline is June 13 (10 days before the draft).

Technically you can sign 2nd round picks for longer if you want can't you? It's just that teams don't tend to like to do it. I'd prefer a guy with the 1st round pick who you know has at least one NBA skill, which is why I like Prince. He has the NBA body, can spot up shoot, and he can defend and is interested in defending. Probably zero star potential, but we're picking in the 20's, the chance of a star in the 20's is like 6%. Prince looks like there's an over 85% chance that he's a solid NBA player on the other hand.
