our offense is just terrible, not nearly enough ball movement...our defense is having a hard time keeping up with their speed in small ball. I honestly thought going into game 1 that the winner of this one wins the series and we may just have exposed ourselves as frauds officially. And back to back all-star Kyle Lowry playing worse than Houston Ty Lawson.

Tell me about it man. Then there are those who claim they are still Heat fans after Lebron left them :banghead:

Heat did exactly what they had to do to beat the Raps tonight. They only took shots they thought they could make, and they grabbed as many rebounds as they could.

Raps didn't get beat by the Heat, they got beat by themselves. The Heat just played a simple game.

But even with that bad offence, if Demar had made just one of his and-ones this could have been over before overtime...

Just poor execution and total failure to be clutch by everyone, including Lowry. Miracle aside, that OT loss was totally predictable.

Raps were playing 4 vs 7 (5 Heat + 1 ref + 1 Lowry) all night.

Whiteside wasn't even guarding him, we were 4 vs 5 on offense.

It started with being in foul trouble early but then Jonas was having a good game. Defensively Biyombo wasn't really doing anything and offensively he was worse. Just sort of a rough game for him but the rotations will probably be a little bit more normal going forward and he'll get into his normal groove. He'll match up well with anyone not named Whiteside. He's not a guy that gives you too many bad games. He does his job solidly pretty much every game.

Biyombo is a role player good for rebounds and blocks but this is completely nullified by Whiteside who's much better than Biyombo in both of these areas. Add in that Biyombo is a big liability on offense and he shouldn't getting much minutes in this series.

Casey should've anticipated Lowry's slump may continue into this series and planned to adjust for it. JV started off well but, as usual with Casey's freestyle system, the guards stop passing to him as the game went on. Passing more to JV also increase chance of getting Whiteside in foul trouble in having to defend JV more. But none of this happened and Casey just kept with the same old system of running plays through Lowry & DeRozan and they were a combined 12 for 35. Pathetic.

If I was Spoelstra, I'd continue to concentrate my defense on Lowry to make sure his slump continues. So with Casey once again unable to adjust, it comes down to this: If Lowry doesn't immediately start playing like his all star self, we are done.

It is free-flow ISO amateur offense, cannot restructure something that has no structure to start with...

Our offense is pretty much the same as the Spurs. Alot of off-ball screen and ball-screens. The difference is when our players catch the ball after an off-ball screen they don't attack-they back up and isolate. Casey's offense is fine, it's just our players refuse to utilize it.

Ball movement, ball movement and ball movement is the key to winning the series. The ball needs to run through JV and if JV has nothing than he needs pass it out to shooters. The problem with the Raptors is that the ball stops at DD playing ISO.

Bench Lowry next game. Send him a message. Trick shot aside, he shouldn't have even been on the court for that play.

I felt we were quite competitive that game! Same problems we've seen these playoffs but it felt better than some of those Indiana games.

The off ball movement is some of the worst I have ever seen for a PO team.

It is the same high SnR, which they don't even do early enough to even run at times, so sometimes Demar will keep it at the top of the key till 10 seconds are left, and JV is hesitant as to whether to screen or ISO.

The problem is one of two, and both are awful:

1. You have plays but your leaders refuse to run them

2. You don't have plays

JV clearly the difference-maker in two series now. And both series, we've seen the team look off him after his amazing first halfs, continuously s***ing the bed with their guard play b/c Casey lets his two guards get away with murder.

Remember "Pass it to Will"?

How about the Raps actually "Pass it to Jonas". They literally couldn't do any worse than what they are doing now.

is it just me or does everyone feel like they cant stomach this game?

you lose in such a fashion that your body aches for more, I kinda want them to just play game 2 right now.

I cant wait till thursday with the way im feeling about this now.

The absolute worst part is even if we win thursday i still cant wait till saturday to get homecourt back ugh.

well i guess it's going like this then.

22 points on 22 shots! This was actually a solid game from DD to be honest. I'll take it. Unacceptable from Cojo/Lowry/Pat/Powell though.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Okay, I'm back from the Square.

That. Was. Insane. Half of them left, and the other half proceeded to have their minds blown. I went with my buddy and we were on our way out down 6 at his request, some guy told us to stay, and we did. Absolutely incredible shot.

However, with that said, poor PG play is the reason we lost this game, along with that terrible third quarter where we couldn't buy a bucket nor stop them. Kyle and Cory were horrible today and Lowry looked like he didn't know what to do when Richardson pressured him. Not to mention Dragic going off and draining big bucket after big bucket. DD played a pretty good game today, had some bad shot selection here and there but overall he was carrying us when nobody else could do anything. I loved Carroll's defense and I felt like we did a great job of minimizing Whiteside's Impact despite BB having a bad game.

All in all, we had a lot of guys turn in very subpar games, and still very nearly won it. Not the ideal result, but as we know, Raptors don't win Game 1's. As long as they fix it for next game we will bounce back. Defense was mainly there, just that stretch that Goran went 7 for 8 killed us.

Insane there were 3-4 plays where guys just dribbled around with no purpose to feed JV or DD with 5 seconds left in the post and everyone stationary?

If someone wants to see a team trying to run a offence, check the cavs game tomm. They are very few possesions they waste. Everything has a purpose.
