Clutch isn't on the clock, that's just how the first round went.

Another very strong playoff performer, to offset the RS wonder that was my second pick. The clear cut best player on a title team - averaged 35/8/4/3/1 in the finals. Gives a perimeter/post punch paired with Duncan, and good leadership ability. Will edit in more when not trying to eat my dinner.

I would consider 2011. Fewer shots, better defense, similar offense, better 3P shooting, better movement off the ball, great playoff run + crazy good in the Finals again.

Have to say the FGA limit really seems like it's served its purpose well. The fact that we're all agonizing over most of the same players suggests people are putting a lot of thought into their picks and identifying guys that fill needs rather than just finding BPA that falls to you.

Not sure I agree on the defense. RAPM far prefers 2006, as does my eye test. And if you're 30% from 3, I don't want you taking many! And the 2011 Finals just isn't as good as 2006 in my view, although that may be winner's bias. The extra rebounding on both ends would be nice and 2011 has slightly better decision making, and if the shot difference had been significant (or I really need 0.6 later) I might consider it, but I'm pretty happy with the choice.

Wasn't that so much as Moncrief in my mind represented a pretty specific identity for my team, and thus a vision for how to fill in the rest of the roster. So having Moncrief taken meant I had to pivot a little bit and plan not just this pick but also the type of guys I'd want after that.. And that leads to specific guys and the strategy in terms of how to work the draft board and who to target.

That said, I Love Wallace and I love his fit with my core, so I'm definitely not any worse off for how things turned out. Cheers :D

I'll say that Sheed was actually a guy I pondered with my 3rd round pick. He's perfect for a league like this.

I enjoyed the Sheed and Moncrief picks along with everyone else, though I wasn't as set on having them. Wade was definitely in consideration for me. Still agonizing between 3 or 4 guys, so hopefully the next two guys take 2 of them to make my decision easier.

He was the guy that inspired me to take Bosh. Although Sheed is the better man defender, having a mobile big who can shoot on not a lot of FGA is pretty huge.

The Duncan/Green/Wade combo is definitely a sign of a process I could see winning this thing.

Coming from you, that means a good deal, so thank you.

I look at all the teams and am very impressed. There are some formidable threesomes out there, and are sure to be more. Every time a pick comes it's either a great player or a specific rules-related target of mine - and sometimes both! But as always, it's easy to get great players early on. The mid rounds are where these are won, and where you can really put a stamp on your team.

50 games played in a full 82-game season is a must. I didn't mention that before, because nobody selected a guy who played less than that, and I didn't expect that being a problem in any case (i.e. I didn't see a player worth taking who played under 50 games)

Sorry, can I get a clarification on how the 98-99 and 11-12 lockouts affect things? If a player plays a complete or near complete (95% of available games) is that counted as the same as a full 77+ game season? It isn't vital either way, but just for the sake of the forward planning....

At least 40 games for 1998-99 season, and at least 45 for the 2011-12 season. I think that will be fair - there's 16-game difference between those seasons - 50 games in '99, 66 games in '12, 82 games in normal season, so I think at least 50 games for 82-game season, 45 games for 66-game season, and 40 games for 50-game season, is a good rule. Proportions are kept.

With picks such as Wade, Wallace, Miller, Bosh and Pierce we have hit a round of rather disliked players from opposing fan bases. Looks like I will continue this trend.

Worming is way into the #43 pick of the RealGM All-Time fantasy draft is '92 Dennis Rodman from the Detroit Pistons.

Came into the third round wanting a PG who pushes the pace like crazy, forces turnovers, and attacks the rim, to take advantage of how good Barkley is in transition and how good my team is on the offensive glass. No one better than Westbrook at that, and I love what he did this year decreasing his scoring and focusing more on his overall floor game. We're going to control the glass and run people off the floor.

One sad thing about this draft is that with every pick you close so many doors for yourself in the future. So many guys I was thinking about are impossible for me to draft now, even if they fall. (But even with that it's fun as hell.)

I don't know if you have the best team (although it is excellent), but you may have the most entertaining. The mayhem!

Thanks. It's definitely all about mayhem, but (though obviously I'm biased) I think the presence of Bill Russell is what turns it from "entertaining but not serious" into "dangerous, controlled chaos with a purpose". He was just so dominant at controlling the other team's scorers while allowing his own teammates to freelance effectively on O and D with his passing and shotblocking. Just my thoughts.

With my pick I thought hard and decided the Coco Butter All Stars would be best served getting an elite scorer with 3 point range (I mean he did average 36% on 100 threes over the two seasons following this year iirc) so the pick is in and we're going with 1988 Kevin McHale (14.2).

Image

Didn't see this coming at all but he can guard SFs if needed, post up, shoot the J, and do all of this under 25 FGAs a night. With my next pick 5 away I'm hoping this doesn't come back to bite me and I don't lose the one guy I want to complete my big 4 but that comes later.
