Watching this year's playoffs, inbounding the basketball seems to be a struggle, even more so than some years. In my opinion, some teams do not choose wisely for who is passing the ball inbounds. Who do you choose? Sure, you want some great people to pass the ball to, but even the announcers frequently remind viewers that the man passing the ball in can be dangerous on a return pass.

How to choose an inbounds passer:
1. Good passer/decision maker - DUH!!! But still ignored sometimes.
2. Height, especially late in the games where the pass is strongly contested.
3. ... ... ... Did I miss something?

Which Nuggets make the best inbounds passers? From center to guard - major minutes guys only - my short list
Nurkic - maybe
Jokic - best choice???
Gallinari - another good choice
Chandler - quite acceptable

I LOVED it when Malone would put in Mike Miller for the first time just to inbound the ball on an important possession. I don't ever remember that not working out.

I also remember seeing a diagram on twitter about mid-way through the season that ranked each team/coach based on points scored directly after a timeout. Pretty sure Malone was in the top 10.

That was what set me to thinking originally - Mike Miller. Malone puts thought into who is inbounding the ball in key situations. Some coaches seem to just let whomever throw it in - often times the point guard, which I think is a mistake.

I also noticed that some teams seem to have a rule that point guards NEVER inbound the ball, even after a made basket at mid-game. I suppose that's just because they don't want to develop that habit?
