He makes it hard for fans to like him coz he is very old school and runs this organisition with a very cool "it's my decision, deal with it" approach, while fans tend be emotional and while he is great at finding great players, he also has a lot of misses on his résumé, but for the most part, we like him ya and most of us know that it might be much harder to replace Larry than Frank.

Overall, yes, I do. Like others have said, his approach is a little off sometimes, like unnecessary comments about Vogel and Roy after they go which I'm afraid will at some point rub someone the wrong way and cost the team good personnel (West alluded to this after he signed with the Spurs.)

Overall though, yes. He plucked Granger, PG, Hibbert, and Myles all in the first round all between picks 10 and 17, and found Lance and Joey Buckets in the 2nd. Even Hansbrough wasn't as awful of a pick at 13, even though guys like Teague, Carroll, and Taj Gibson were on the board. Plus, he's gotten a couple legit free agents like David West and Monta Ellis (and Stuckey if you count him) to come to small-market Indiana who was middle of the pack when they signed.

This was the first move he's made that's felt really knee-jerk. I'm sure he knows that he has to hit a home run on the next hire.

Separate but related question for Pacer fans - as beloved as Larry is to Indiana as a whole, do you think he is maybe considered harder to fire by the front office? We've seen it before when guys like McHale in Minnesota or Joe Dumars in Detroit were kept around arguably longer than they should've been.
