We already have Randle, if we didn't, I'd take Simmons. That said, I voted for Ingram. We need a guy who can knock down shots from anywhere and isn't dependent on having the ball in his hands all the time. He's going to be the recipient of a lot of assists. He can put the ball on the floor or shoot from the perimeter. TBH i'm just hoping we keep the pick.

Getting the 3rd would make things really interesting. i would have to think the Lakers would really try to deal the pick if it ends up being third.

If we get third and can't find a satisfactory deal for a veteran player, I'd look to draft Bender and trade down with someone who's in a position to pick Dunn or Hield if we want someone who's more ready to make an impact.

How the hell is Ingram winning this poll  You take Ben Simmons every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Frankly Randle is not good enough to pass up on the best player in the draft.

I didn't say I didn't like them as players, I just don't think they're super stars like the media will have you believe.

I've never seen him play, so I'm just wondering: How does Ingram play like Durant?

I know he's long as hell and can shoot, but Durant was an effin' force of nature as a freshman at Texas. You saw him play and instantly knew he was very, very special.

Is this another lazy comparison based on physical appearance and only a pinch of similar skills and mindsets?

From an ignorant dude, it kind of seems that way.

1 Simmons
2 Ingram
3 Bender/Trade, but do not include Russell or Randle

Sign Barnes, Whiteside/Drummond, and resign Clarkson

Yeah, him at college and Durant at college is a totally different level. He plays in a way that Durant is. Long, good shooter. Durant also had way more responsibility and he was practically the whole option. In a Coach K system, you're not going to get that.

In my opinion, he has "Durant attributes," but I definitely wouldn't say he plays like Durant.

I still lean towards Simmons at #1.. but it scares the s**t outta me. I feel much better about him now that Luke is here.

I just hope we secure the pick. We need one more blue-chip youngster on the team. Then fill it out with nice vets with the cap space and let's roll.

Ben Simmons would be perfect for his offense.

Honestly, they both have their appeals. Ingram is a great great fit with this young core. A near perfect fit. Simmons not so much...but Simmons, imo easily has more upside, and with Luke on-board it's appealing, but not sure what you do what Randle...Can we trade Randle/Clarkson for a solid defensive center? Simmons in a GSW type of offense would just be amazing.....I'm thinking Draymond with so much more potential (on offense). I'm very ok with a top two pick. The lottery can't come here soon enough.....

Alright Mitch said he's not going to trade the pick. I don't know how believable he is, but I hope there is somewhat truth to what he's saying to media.

If we improve on ball movement and defense I don't care about our record. And I think we should keep the pick, we always go for the home run, maybe it's time to switch things up a bit and grow through the draft, instead of putting all our eggs in one basket (FA)

I personally wanted Ingram but since we've hired Luke its gotten closer again because if there is anyone that could implement Simmons into our offense its Luke. Despite the shooting issues, I think the one factor that has me favoring Ingram is defense. He is just so much more active on defense and has all the tools to be a great defender. It was the one aspect of his game that wasn't talked enough during the course of the season. The one thing this team desperately needs is to improve on defense.

And I'll go ahead and say it now but in 3 years time Simmons will be 10 times better than Draymon.....especially since guys are trying to find a comparable player to him. Ben is a 4 way player, he'll be able to score, he is definitely a playmaker, and he can rebound and defend. His 6'10 frame will only get stronger. People harp on his shooting but those bastards don't understand that at NBA level he'll have NOTHING but time to work on shooting. Secondly it's not like he has a major mechanical flaw in his shot release, it's his timing that's off. He'll get better at that as will Julius also. Bigs who have 2 way games usually lack the touch part it takes to shooting.

I remember when Horace Grant came in the league, couldn't shoot from the elbows at all and in the Triangle 4's and 5's have to live in those spots. Grant put in work, got better and so did the Bulls. When Grant started hitting that elbow jumper the Bulls became lethal. It takes time and Simmons will get it....I just hope we can end up with him.

Simmons has freakish athletic skills so you need to take him period
Play him at either 3 or at the 4 but you have to take someone who looks to be able to overpower opponents.
He is the best asset on the board...

Yep...you take the best damn player available, I don't care about positions anymore. And if we're going to implement Luke's ideas then we just need players that are versatile.

Since the Luke hire, I too feel that Simmons would be the most versatile fit for Luke's system. I just hope we keep our pick
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust
