Re: Rustler - The Jeremy Lamb Thread
Agreed, no BF1. Now it is starters; some starters with Al and Lin; Lin,Al with Kam and starters Batum and Lee; back to starters maybe Lin or Al with one substituted. Lamb gets spot minutes at most. Daniels was getting more. In the playoffs, Daniels ability to hit 3s may get him more PT than Lamb gets and DNPs likely for both. Lamb's significant minutes are over this season and likely playoffs. Jeremys tandem is dead.

Not sure why the coach doesn't give Lamb more leeway. He makes mistakes but he also makes some really athletic plays.

Cliff comes from the Van Gundy school, highly conservative. Lambs regularly makes mistake in: defensive rebound boxing out, defensive rotations and on offense, not passing enough and taking low percentage shots. Big no-nos for Cliff.
Lamb is clearly affected by having Alfense instead of Hawfense. Lin has adjusted, it's probably too late for Lamb.
Thanks for the honesty.MorbidHEAT wrote:My dislike for Lin started during Linsanity. It was absurd. It's probably irrational dislike at this point, but man he gets on my nerves. He's been tearing us up though.

So what do we do with Lamb? I'm very much on the fence with him. Don't really want to trade him, but don't feel too confident with him as our primary wing backup, especially due to MKG injury concerns.

I want to trade Lamb.
Normally I stick up for young players, arguing that they will get better. But I watch Lamb on defense, and I honestly don't think he can get much better on that end.
Someone's got to go (Hawes or Lamb) if we're to have any chance of bringing back the core Batum, Marvin, Lin & Lee.
Of course the challenge is Lamb's contract. Anytime you need to dump salary, there's one solution: PHI. If there's any chance PHI would trade Hollis Thompson or Jerami Grant (both <1mln/) for Jeremy Lamb, I would do that and not look back.

I don't want to give up our first rounder though. I'd say keep lamb we need him next year with Lee and lin moving on

I'd have a summer strength training program for Lamb and Frank, if each of them gain 20-30lbs, they will be a lot better than now

Re: Rustler - The Jeremy Lamb Thread
I have zero expectations for Lamb next season. I won't be surprised if he isn't in the rotation next year either. On a scale of Tyrus Thomas to Jeremy Lin, how bad to you think Cho regrets that early extension for Lamb?

Re: Rustler - The Jeremy Lamb Thread
I don't know why we'd give up on Lamb after only one season with the team. He can rebound and he has good scoring instincts. If we can get him to be solid on the defensive end and work on his catch and shoot game we'll be happy with the results.

Re: Rustler - The Jeremy Lamb Thread
I think there is validity to the argument that Lamb is a plus one on one defender, his issue seems to be dealing with screens and understanding proper rotations. He also is avery poor defender around the basket. I think his lack of confidence on D also affects his offense.
I'm hoping that it's an issue that our coaching staff can fix, hopefully it's not an unfixable BBIQ issue. It doesn't seem like effort is the problem.

meh... I still think he has positive value but around the league I don't think there's too much interest. If we wanted to trade him, we'd be looking at an early 2nd rounder or a very late 1st. I honestly prefer Troy over him due to Troy's three ball but I like them both and hope that one or both of them play their way into the rotation- especially if Lee goes elsewhere. Lamb has upside (he's still only 24) and definitely has the talent. I just hope Clifford doesn't Bismack him.
investigate Adam Silver

Re: Rustler - The Jeremy Lamb Thread
without Lin, Lamb will be a lot more valuable... he is another PnR play maker, good ball handler, good rebounder, surprisingly good at attacking the rim this season, he can be really good at catch and shoot with his quick release... a lot potentials...u signed that deal for potentials, you don't want to give it up so easily...

I'm starting to think maybe we extended the wrong dude.
Extending Daniels (for half the price) might have been the better move?
At least he brings talent at a high level in at least one area (3 ball) - that helps our team.

Do you mean that we'd have to attach a late 1st or early 2nd to get someone to take him? I think he has negative value on his new contract.
