OUT
Cousins (trying to lose)
Rondo (trying to lose)

Etc.

Exactly right - unless you've got someone fighting injury, I don't see any reason for them to rest. The rest of the working world doesn't get to take rest days. We get what is called vacation. In the NBA, that's called the off-season. If they play in the playoffs and lose part of their off-season, no big deal. For the rest of us it's called overtime and they do get paid extra for the playoffs.

And they certainly don't need to rest for the playoffs - the first round stretches out so long, the announcers will all be talking about "getting rusty".

Decent chance Utah loses anyway, making the HOU/SAC game irrelevant. Winning in LA on Kobe's last game will not be easy.

ANY other team than the Rockets I'd be all over this, but a 1st is at stake....

Looks like I spoke too soon, Rockets are blowing out the Kings (No surprise). 3 first rounders for the Nuggets. I wonder what TC and Josh will do with em.

Well, not only do we get their #1, it's actually the best draft position the trade would allow, how's that for a little luck.....maybe this is the year we get bumped up into the lottery !!!

I'm hoping that Silver throws us a bone and gives us the #1 pick as we finished last in the league for attendance.

I heard Silver is going to reward us for the attendance numbers by moving our draft team table to the Blue Room.

So picks of at least 7 (lottery pick to decide) and 15 are confirmed, I understand. Is the Portland pick locked at 18 or not?
Canned in Denver.

18th or 19th, depends on a coin flip with DET.

The Nuggets lost the coin flip and will pick 19th.

That 2017 MEM pick just took a turn for the better with Dave Joeger getting fired. Don't know if that'll have any bearing on Conley staying/going but he was a top coach and will be missed. Hope Brian Shaw gets a Grizz call soon !!

Gasol is locked in, but if they shut him down early they could actually finish bottom 5 which would mean they keep their pick... It's good that they're falling apart (not really) but they need to remain somewhat competitive

Well, if we don't get it in 2017, we MIGHT get it in 2018 and if not then, it is a lock for 2019. I think the Nuggets can afford to wait on this one.

BTW - If they finish 5th worst, that does NOT guarantee their pick is top 5. If just one team leaps ahead of them, they drop to 6th. Odds are against it, but it could happen. Real freaky would be if three teams leaped in front of a third worst team and bumped them down to 6th.

Yeah the Memphis pick is looking like gold right now. Even if we have to wait another year or two, I feel pretty confident that it'll eventually land in the lottery. That Mozgov trade was great.

Also, this looks like a good year to be in the market for a new head coach. The coach free agent pool right now is significantly better than what the Nuggets had to choose from last year.

Well BKN and the Lakers still look pretty bad, PHI looks to be bad again and NYK, SAC and PHX all look weak enough to keep MEM out of top 5 range even if Conley goes. I was expecting a pick between 12-17 next year from MEM, but now it may be between 7-14 and I am down with that.
