Jonas' ankle is incredibly swollen, couldn't even put his dress shoes on. Might miss game 4.

You can tell who are the newer Raps fans vs the old ones in this thread. Some of the newer Raps fans gloat so easily but the seasoned fans never gloat. Once you've been a Raptors fan long enough you can only ever be cautiously optimistic.

The only fact in this is that his ankle is swollen and that he wasn't wearing his right shoe. Maybe he was told not to wear a shoe on that foot as a precautionary measure.

Sounds like that's the case. Quoting alienchild from the Raptors PG thread

Actually, if your foot is swollen, wearing a shoe is the last thing you should do. It will make the swelling last longer if you do.

I honestly don't think it's crazy to say JR is more impactful than DeRozan.

He absolutely is. Derozan as far as i can tell is a net neutral player. Misses far more than he makes, little to no playmaking, average defender. Terrible shots at inopportune times.

Id rather have a role player in tbh.

Derozan's made bad decisions but his mere presence sucks the defence in. He could use that presence for better shots sometimes but we wouldn't be enjoying home court advantage without him and he's had some impactful games. Needs to step up and soon though

Hopefully that's true, I'm only going off of my own experiences of when I had a severely sprained ankle. Couldn't even put my shoes back on and I was out for a week. Though Jonas has professionals helping him.

He's more impactful than DeRozan when he's hitting threes at an abnormal rate and playing alongside three all-star calibre offensive talents. Put JR Smith in DeRozan's role and the Raptors don't have HCA in the playoffs.

DeRozan stifles ball movement too much and takes a lot of terrible shots. Whilst he'd be a worse #1 (who cares when you're as ineffective as DeRozan anyway?), he'd fit in much better in a system when Lowry and Val were the two main offensive weapons and JR can feast on 3's, D and minimal shot creating.

In the first half of today's game, when the game plan was to get Jonas the ball, DeRozan was actually playing well, creating plays for others while only taking shots in the flow of the offense. When Jonas went out that's when we saw the DeRozan that threw up terrible shots.

For the most part DeRozan was good in the regular season when Kyle Lowry was playing like the second best player in the east. DeRozan's a guy who feeds off of his superiors, though he absolutely cannot be the first option.

I've been a Raps fan from the start. No need to gloat in victory, just enjoy the ride, win or lose.

I haven't really noticed that at all. If anything, he gets room to fire off those midrange jumpshots because they defense won't collapse on him unless he's at the rim, and the best case scenario for the opposing team is seemingly a Derozan jumpshot.

He's had some impactful games so far in the playoffs, but they were games where he hit huge shots for the Raptors and then immediately missed just as many.

I mean, I don't know. I dont really see anything irreplaceable from a role player aside from his foul drawing. Give DD's shots to JV and upgrade to a defensive 2 who can hit the open 3. Done. You have some guys off the bench who are better suited to an offensive team than DD.

Right. I'm still laughing at this one guy's comment who said we had a 0 chance of wining in Miami, and Charlotte only won because they're a tougher team than us.

It's going to be hard to maintain your swag after dropping two in a row.

Now the pressure is on, don't want to go down 3-1 going back into Toronto.

Key play of the game for the Raptors was Spo's clutch move of not playing Dragic down the stretch.

They are not in shambles, they're down 1 game. I'm excited about the win too, but let's not get carried away.
