Are we seeing the same guy? Davis can get up above the rim, run the floor well and get up very quick for multiple blocks and rebound attempts. Defensively he'll be able to guard both the 4 and 5 when he gets a little stronger, he's already good at getting out and defending PnR and on the perimeter.

I think maybe there's an illusion of him being slow because he's pretty smooth and takes long strides, he is an above average NBA athlete though. His wingspan is 7'2 but watching him he looks like he plays even bigger than that.

Sorry, I just don't think he's that good. Looks rough offensively and didn't take a lot of jumpers.

Chriss n Skal should be ahead of him in terms of PF imo

Chriss looks to have real agility and I don't see that in Davis. Don't see it in Poetl either although he runs the floor well. A player in the draft with 7 average points to his name scares me off. Namely Skal.

Players I actually like.
Chriss, Luwawu, Sabonis, Prince, Dejounte, Yabousele and of course Hield. If Poetl drops you have to consider him.

The dream is Henry Ellenson going in the Top 7 and letting one of Buddy Hield or Jaylen Brown fall to us.

If Ellenson is a potential top 7, how come he's not in play for us at 9. DX has had him top 10 all year yet this board wants nothing to do with him.

I see him as a Scola / Patterson hybrid

Ellenson hasn't impressed on the defensive end. There's a concern he won't be able to defend quicker PFs. That might be fine for teams with a strong defensive centre, but it looks like a bad mix with Jonas.

A good comparison might be David Lee. Good offensive PF but his defensive liabilities prevented him from playing for Golden State or Boston in recent years.

A young david lee could play for almost any team and was an AS. Maybe it's an IQ / inexperience thing with Ellenson. He is just a freshman. Combine will help or hurt is draft position but I think he'll be legit if his jumper is consistent.

If we end up taking a wing with the NYK pick then I wouldn't be opposed to drafting Uthoff with our pick. God knows we could use some offense off the bench and he could really spread the floor.

Uthoff is one of my sleepers at our own pick, with a rare skill-set. But I also have a couple of others in mind...

If he learns how to shoot he'll be a star. From the looks of this video he looks to be working that weird motion out of his jumper. He's a do-it-all talent that I can see doing very well in the NBA.

The need at PF is dire, especially one who can stretch the floor and take scoring pressure off of our main guys. He's one to watch at our pick. If he can be decent defensively he'd be ranked much higher than he is.

This kid is obvious. If he's there at 27 there's no way we can pass him up. I doubt he falls that far because of his two-way talent. The DeMarre Carrol comparisons are based more on the hair. He truly plays that style of game, but is more dynamic than DeMarre was at the same age.

I worry that he doesn't rebound the ball as you'd like in your power foward.

6.4 boards a game isn't that bad. Plus he had 2.5blks and 1.2stl per game. He's pretty solid on the defensive end.

6.4 rebounds especially in college is downright terrible. The 2.5 blocks and 1.2 steals I'm not sure will translate in NBA but he's is averaging a little over 30 minutes a game so it very well might. When I think of awful rebounders, Bargnani comes to mind. Not saying this guy's Bargnani but if a team drafts him, he'll need serious work in the D-League to work on that part of his game ala Caboclo. Alot of wing prospects in this year's draft is averaging more rebounds then he is and it'll be tough to roll him out there if he isn't rebounding the ball.

We need to trade up to get Murray.

Pay the price Masai.

Just do it.

Other sites have Henry Ellenson being picked in the high teens which is probably closer to reality.
What are the chances of a recruit that is slow, can't jump and cannot play effective defence being
picked in the top 7.

I honestly watch no college basketball at all, I am trying to figure out a bit of info about some prospects. What do you think about Chriss? Is he too raw? Is he projected to be chosen in the lottery?

Agreed. We need to do a rebuild. Not necessarily a full blow up and tank, but we need to change the focal points of the offense. JV inside and Murray outside could work nicely in the long term. I'd want Murray to spend time in D League developing some point guard skill, however, since I still like Powell at SG.

I see him being Spencer Hawes in the League. In a draft this weak, I wouldn't be surprised if was picked top 10. This kid has been hyped for a long time. With how the league is going these days, his 3 point shooting will interest a lot of teams.

I actually wouldn't mind picking him tbh His celling might not be that high, but I see him as a lock to being playing in the League and getting minutes for years and years to come

With the 9th pick? This might be our only top 10 lottery pick in a while i'd rather take someone with higher upside

Yeah best case scenario would be both Ellenson and Poetl getting drafted before our pick allowing us to get some talent that dropped.

Assuming we don't trade up on our own
