I think for sure he doesn't play next game, that would be being way too risky. Then I think from there, if it turns out to be something that is less severe, it'll be more about being cautious and thinking about the long term as opposed to the short.

He's got an MCL sprain ... I don't know why they'd list him as questionable unless they are trying to pressure him to play through the injury. Steph Curry has a sprained MCL and was declared out 2 weeks minimum.

Because the Warriors can weather the storm without Curry, and he plays more East/West, than Whiteside.

Whiteside is HUGE for the Heat, and without him the D struggles.

If Whiteside can sit game 4, but be back for game 5, I can see the Heat having a huge advantage over the Raps without JV on the floor, Whiteside will dominate, even at 70%.

Different sprains. Wall didn't miss any time with his sprain while Gobert missed several weeks.

Heat rule out Whiteside for Game 4, Raptors stay mum on Valanciunas replacement
MIAMI—It’s official: It will be a starting centre-free game between the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat tonight.

The Heat officially ruled the day-to-day Hassan Whiteside out with a sprained right knee ligament while Toronto’s Jonas Valanciunas showed up at the team’s morning shootaround with his right ankle encased in a cumbersome walking boot.

...
“We had to adjust early on in the season without him, it’s just going to be another challenge,” DeMar DeRozan said this morning. “It’s not something we never seen before but it definitely does suck, how great he was playing. We just gotta figure it out..

Both centres are out for tonight's game.

Yeah but he didn't miss a single game, which was my point. On the other hand, Gobert missed what, 8 weeks? We have literally zero information to speculate on because Heat love to be hush-hush in these situation. He could be back for game 5 or he could be done for season. We better pray it's former.
