Rumors are that Hamels and Bloweuntes made it over John Maine, if that's true, MLB is retarted.

yes, because he can control whether or not someone's on base in front of him when he happens to get a hit.
No one has to be on base for you to make a clutch hit. Getting a hit with no one on base to start a rally/keep a rally going is a clutch hit. Not hard to understand.

oh, question. if you get a leadoff hit but the next 3 guys strike out, does that make your hit un-clutch since there was no rally?
I'm not sure if you're disagreeing just to be disagreeing or you really don't understand the meaning of being clutch. It's a simple concept. When a team needs a hit the most, there are players that gets hits more often than others.

it's not my argument. bill james and billy beane (heard of those guys?) are two people who were saying that stuff when i was a child. the stats prove that there is no such thing as "clutch." players who are good will perform well in these supposedly "clutch" situations because they're always good.

ROFL @ No Maine or Chris Young.
Maine and Young should be ahead instead of Hamels, valverde or feuntes

if Bonds is so universally despised, how does he get in by fan ballot year after year?
Hate him or love him, people want to see him on the big stage. He's one of the most exciting players in baseball history. Plus the San Fran fans, plus the people who honestly think he deserves it even if they don't like him as a person.

Just some minor changes to my last AL All-Star game picks.
I still don't understand you leaving Sabathia off and this belief that you have that Pudge deserves to start in front of Martinez.

I was going with the voting for starters, I wouldn't have Pudge on my team if I picked the starters.. I left CC off for some time as I did for Johan Santana. I still think you can make a case for Gaudin those two guys too.
Santana (9-6) 2.76 ERA 1.04 WHIP
Sabathia (12-2) 3.20 ERA 1.12 WHIP
Gaudin (7-3) 2.92 1.36 WHIP
Obviously based on WHIP Gaudin sure has had some luck on his side. But he's got a very good era. And to be honest I don't look much at W's and L's. Either way my final team had both Santana and Sabathia, both deserve to be there.
