...that would require Turkey making it out of the group stage. Good luck.

Although with that wierd 24 team format this time it's really not that hard at all.

Bayern paying 35 mil. € for 18 y/o Renato Sanches.

Jesus the prices these days.

Hummels to Bayern seems done, too, for about same sum.

Edit: Benfica is even reporting that transfer fee could go all the way up to 80 mil. €

How good is Renato Sanches? Can anyone tell me more about him?

Really good talent IMO.
He's got it all(technical ability, power, pace) to become a top notch CM in world football.
Though, he's just 18 so he still needs some time to grow.

Sebastian Rode has been linked with Gladbach as a possible replacment for Granit Xhaka, if he'd be sold this summer.
Also, we've most likely secured an investor and seem to announce it on Thursday.
It's said to be ZTE, a chinese cell phone company that also invested quite heavily in the NBA.

BTW: I'm not sure if I'd mentioned it before.
For anyone interested in a recap of the latest weekend of Bundesliga and able to understand german, I'd always recommend Bohndesliga by the Rocket Beans.

Rode? Poor choice IMO. Anything above 4-5 mil. is an overpay.

Stop it Det, you dont watch Portugese football.

The kid was all over the place against Zenit and Bayern in the CL. Vidal totally dominated him.

Okay, now I can either trust Det's or No_20's opinion on him.

That's a tough one.

Haven't seen much of him yet, but man did he impress me in our CL matchup (both in person and on television). Powerful player, looked like the heart and soul of his team and very mature on the ball. Insane considering his age.
Well, up to 80 M sounds insane as well, but hopefully, we will get further information on these bonuses. 35 M as a base fee seems reasonable to me.

Concerning Hummels, I think this deal works well for all parties. Crossing my fingers Dortmund will be able to find a proper replacement.

Det I think you can't do wrong with signing Rode. He's obviously a different type of player than Xhaka and probably not a real replacement. Nevertheless he has never looked out of place when given playing time in Bayern's stacked team. I like him because of his versatility. I already knew that he was pretty good in annoying opponents and gaining possession when we signed him, but his ability to integrate into our specific style of play on offense stood out to me. That's where he really impressed me and beat my expectations because he didn't look uncomfortable at all. I'm pretty convinced he's a valuable addition to every Bundesliga squad not named Bayern.

First of all, Bayern is betting very high on potencial, Renato Sanches is very good, has all the potencial in the world and was reported in this past few months the intrested of Man.United and Barcelona for a reason. With Man United a lot of media said that the deal was pretty much done in the past few weeks.

I say Bayern is betting high on potencial because Renato Sanches is not even secure that he is going to make the national team in Euro 2016.

My wishlist for the summer:
OM: Edimilson Fernandes from Sion or Zlatko Junuzovic in case Werder Bremen are relegated.
LB/CB: Luca Caldirola from Darmstadt
DM: Gideon Jung from Hamburg
Winger: Sarenren-Bazee from Hannover

Get it done Heidel....eh Schröder!!!

What part of "he's only 18 and needs time to grow" didn't you understand?
Of course Vidal's currently dominating him but that's also a guy who's ten years older and a vet of the game.

Caldirola?
Sarenren-Bazee will most likely stay in Hannover for another season and that wouldn't be bad for him.

Bayern didn't even wait for season to be over to announce Hummels.

Monopoly at its best.

Lived in 4 different countries, speak 5 different languages, played youth football with well known Bundesliga players and watch football every week from various leagues all over Europe, not just Bundesliga like you guys. But yeah, my opinion is irrelevant according to you. Right.

I know you arent that knowledgeable about football outside of Germany, but when was the last time a player from the Portugese did well at a top European team?

Anderson, Nani(apart from a couple of moments), Mangala, Fernando, Danilo, Jackson Martinez. Big flops. Matic has been awful at Chelsea for 18 months now. Hamez nothing special at Monaco and especially not at Madrid. So you can't say a player is great just because he is doing well in Portugal.

How does playing with well known Bundesliga player qualify your opinion? I played football against Marko Marin and Andrew Luck in my youth days...probably a lot of others, too, who turned pro.

Does that make me a Süper Lig and NFL expert now? Obviously not.

A lot of them were disappointments because of the high expectations, but big flops ? I think that is a bit exaggerated.
Only Jackson and Anderson (because of injuries)...

Not Bundesliga, just football in general.

Off course it counts something if you played played football at a decent level at some point.

Like I said, I follow leagues all over Europe. Not only Germany, you've seen how knowledgeable I am about English football as well in the PL topic and also other leagues.

Mangala is the most expensive december ever and has been really, really awful at ManCity, same with Fernando. Danilo is the worst RM signing since Faubert, they lose every time he plays.

Coentrao another huge disappointment. Postiga, Maniche, Quaresma, Costinha back in the day. The only players(apart from the obvious) who did well was the ones who played at Mourinho's clubs. Players like Deco, Carvalho, Ferreira and so on.

I've been to many countries, speak quite a few languages as well and played youth football against well know Bundesliga players too.
On top of that, I even had a training camp in Barcelona.

Do I get some chocolate or a lollipop for that, or what?

How exactly do you know about my knowledge of football outside of Germany?
Because I don't write in those other threads quite that often?
I also watch other leagues on a regular basis and not just for a year or two but rather for a long time. Heck, I certainly watch other leagues more than the rest of the Bundesliga, given that I only care about Gladbach.

I've said the kid has great potential and could become a top notch CM in world football. Could, become = potential for a future(in a couple of years) top notch player and doesn't mean right now.
But maybe you should refresh your knowledge of one of those 5 languages...
