Seems as though Murray won't drop past 6th.
6. New Orleans
Jamal Murray | PG/SG | Kentucky
Freshman | 19 | 6-5, 201
Insider info: The Pelicans’ backcourt is unsettled at the moment, with a dozen different players earning a starting nod at one point or another over the course of the season. Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holiday have all struggled with injuries and none is under contract past next season, which means New Orleans will look at all of the top guards available. Murray was one of the most prolific scorers in college basketball despite being a freshman.

Raptors projected picks.
9. Toronto (from Denver)
Skal Labissiere | PF/C | Kentucky
Freshman | 20 | 7-0 | 216
Insider info: The Raptors look fairly set at almost every position except power forward and will likely consider Labissiere, who offers some of the shooting range and rim-protection they currently lack. Once he bulks up, he can also spend some minutes at center, which could be handy with backup Bismack Biyombo likely in line for a significant raise on the free-agent market.

27. Toronto
Juan Hernangomez | SF/PF | Estudiantes, ACB
20 | 6-9, 220
Insider info: With their second first-rounder, the Raptors could be looking to pick a player they can stash in Europe for another year or two. Hernangomez has nice upside as a highly competitive face-up power forward who has been very productive in the competitive ACB league this season.

Q. Is Deyonta Davis a guy that you can see making the NBA next year or is he going to take some time before he’s quite ready?

FRAN FRASCHILLA: Deyonta is in that perfect Storm of when you look at the first round, particularly, you’re looking at production versus projection, production being older players who you expect to come in and play right away versus projection, a young player, in his case, really good size, good length, pretty good motor, good athlete, but he’s 19 years old.

I expect him to go somewhere in the middle of the first round, late lottery, up to about 20. But when you’re taking a guy like Deyonta Davis, you are looking long term. In fact, he was a little bit of a project this year at Michigan State, as you know, and only played 19 minutes a game. So there’s a lot to like about Deyonta.

There are some things that I’m not comfortable with right now, if I were putting him on an NBA court, and a lot of that is on the defensive end, both guarding in the low post and on the perimeter. In terms of defending the way the game is played right now, it’s a speed and space game at the NBA level.

But you’re talking about a kid — it would be like drafting a 19-year-old high school pitcher who throws 95 miles an hour. You’re looking down the road a little bit hoping you got yourself a solid NBA player at the power forward position.

Q. Would you talk a little about where you see Isaiah Briscoe fitting into the draft conversation, and also your expectations for Skal Labissiere?

As far as Skal, unfortunately Skal is the product of ridiculous expectations a year ago, because when you look at his body type, and I know Anthony Davis was the first pick in the draft. But Skal’s body type, along with his basketball experience, lent itself to this being a very trying first year for him.

What you like about Skal is his size and length and his ability to play away from the basket. Right now, he plays with no force around the rim. There’s no way he can guard an NBA 4-man for 5-man right now in the low post. And although he’s got a nice little touch around the basket, particularly with a jump-up over the left shoulder, his body type is such that he’s not getting into the low post anytime soon in the NBA game.

Someone is going to take him in the middle of the first round, and again, he’s what we call a projection pick. Where do you see him two, three, four years down the road, because that’s when he’s going to be able to make a mark on an NBA team, if then.

He'd better be at the combine. This is the first top 10 pick of his career and we won't have another for a while. We need a good pick here.

Dream scenario if we end up with the 9th pick. Hernangomez is a perfect draft and stash. Skal is perfect project with his Shot-blocking and stretch four potential.

I am beginning to think with Powell emerging and Biz needing to be here Denzell Valentine might be our pick which lets Demar go home. Bitter sweet but whatever.

Combine measurements from Chad Fraud

https://mediacentral.nba.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/53/2016/05/2016-Draft-Combine-Anthropometric-Results.pdf?cid=nbacomsocial_tw_sf26163323

Wade Baldwin really stands out being 6'4" with a 6'11" wingspan and fairly large hands. That's Wade/Rondo territory.

Also, for Skal. I'm not sure how he can be 6'11" with almost a 7'3" wingspan and only have 8'9" standing reach. Like did he crouch during the measurement? Similarly Thon Maker is 7'0" with a 7'3" wingspan and has a 9'2" standing reach. The fishiness of the combine continues.

I think the combine is gonna drive Skal's stock real high... I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't avaible by 9

Ahah precisely. At the combine, scouts and gm's tend to skew away from how the athlete performed in college/internationally and get enamoured with the idea of how they can mold them into a star

Yeah, you could think negatively. Or you can remember instances like when Biyombo couldn't score on a chair in workouts, then never got run in Charlotte, but turned out to be very valuable. People who actually watched UK games know how misused Skal was.

I wonder if we can trade Terrence + the NYK pick for Murray?

Then we can either let Demar walk and sign Horford and another guy , have Demar opt in and try to trade off more space for Horford too, or get a combination of both.

Murray adds a lot of potential to this team. We can do the Demar with him and start him, if we let Derozan walk

Lowry /Cojo / Delon
Murray/Delon or Powell?
Carroll /Powell or Bruno?
Horford /Patterson
Jonas / Horford Bebe

... Seems like an amazing team

Or

Lowry
Demar /Powell
Murray /Bruno
Caroll / Patterson
Jonas / Biyombo

... If we can, I would love to get Murray as a point forward position or a combo guard. Damn, we need another playmaker.

If Buddy Hield drops he could be a good DeRozan replacement if Ujiri decides to go that way.

I don't see a team one win away from the East finals letting DeMar walk. Unless we get another near-star type SG for less money, and how likely is that? Those of you who think Masai let's DD, a 20 ppg scorer walk for nothing, are, in my opinion, living in fantasyland.
