I really wanted a player here but I guess I will keep the trend of coaches going. I have to take this coach because I know for an absolute fact that he won't be available to me next round--he's that good.

As the new head coach of the Jäger Bombers, please welcome...

Larry Brown

Coaching Achievements

- NBA coach of the Year (2001)
- 3 X time ABA coach of the year
- NBA Champion (2004)
- Only coach in basketball history to win a championship at the collegiate level and at the professional level
- Only coach in NBA history to lead 8 different teams to the playoffs
- He is 1 of 9 nba coaches that's in the 1,000 win club and he is ranked 6th all time for most wins.

This guy has gotten it done wherever he goes. That's exactly the kind of coach I need.

Might as well go the coach route here. I'll take the guy who I feel is the most underrated coach in the league:

Image

Give me Erik Spoelstra

He was groomed by Pat Riley. Is a great X's and O's coach. Knows how to manage egos and get everyone on the same page. He's a great fit to lead this team.

I am going to go with SG/SF Thabo Sefolosha (2012 or 2013).

Image

Second team all defense and a knockdown 3P shooter. Low usage. Hits close to 50% of his shots from the corner. Big, strong, lengthy athlete who Popovich can put at the 2 when Durant moves to the 4 and Bowen to the 3. This lineup would be lethal on both sides of the ball, surrounding Andre Miller a with 3 knockdown 3 point shooters who are also elite 1v1 defenders. Also creates easy driving lanes for Durant.

This is a sad pick about what could have been.

Image

The Greystone Bay Community Players select Greg Oden; year officially TBD, but it has to be his rookie season, where he showed glimpses of what he might have been and averaged 8.9 & 7.0 on 5.8 FGA.

Had to make my pick quickly 'cuz I was running out the door, but now I've got the time to give it the proper treatment and do it "justise" ...

Image

The Greystone Bay Community Players select G/F Justise Winslow. Obviously his year will be 2015/16; in fact, now that I've drafted all eight of my players I'll go back and specify years for all of them in the Rosters Pages thread.

Drafting a rookie role player was never exactly in my plans, but I needed someone who could swing between SG and SF to finish my rotation. Preferably a strong defender. And I had precisely a maximum of 5.9 FGA per game left to use. I mostly checked Winslow's stats on a lark, but when I saw he averaged precisely 5.9 FGA per game this season, this felt like serendipity.

So far my team has been built around elite measurable, the most elite defense around, elite shooting, and now I need to add to CP's elite playmaking and mix in some elite low post scoring. This guy forms a deadly pick n roll, pick n pop, pick n veer duo with CP3 that will be the foundation of my offense, and will generate a ton of easy baskets. 25ppg 10rpg 5apg, 5 time all-star, and arguably the best passing big of his generation.

I have enoug scoring. I need somebody in the front court who can play PF and C, play lock down defense, rebound, and be a quality passer. Sounds like a guy Pop would like. I want... Chuck Hayes.

One of the best post 1v1 defenders, he makes up for his lack of height with insane lowwr body and core strength, excellent positioning, and quick hands. Good rebounder.active. Good passer (peak year 3.5 assists per 36 minutes). Very happy he fell to me.

FWIW, no player ever has matched Hayes per 100 possessions on his 2011 box score stats. A rebounds/assists/steals/turnovers search results in no players found other than Hayes. The best part? Hayes impact, a lot of it, isn't box state based.

It's about time for me to get a back up big. Let's go with Kendrick Perkins.

Image

Err...wait a minute..

Image

There we go much better

2007-08

I needed a defensive big with some championship pedigree to back up Bogut. He has some really nice defensive stats and best of all only 4.5 FGA

BPG = 1.5
Defensive Rating = 97.3 (4th in the league)
Defensive Win Shares = 4.3
Defensive Box Plus/Minus = 4.3 (5th in the league)

I want some, gimme some:

Image

Trevor Ariza 2008-09

7.3 FGA, 1.7 steals per game, 51% eFG in regular season. Coming off the bench, he'll be yet another elite perimeter defender on a team that features nothing but elite defenders. 3.5 defensive win shares that year.

^ All that is his regular season stuff. I'm absolutely giddy about his playoff numbers: 47.6% 3 point shooter, eFG of 60.5%, another 1.6 steals, and was an absolutely integral part of the Lakers' championship run.

Great perimeter defense, knock down 3 point shooting, and championship pedigree.

I actually can't believe this guy is still OTB at this point, but he is and so I am grabbing him here. The Pismo Beach Panthers select JJ Redick (year TBD).

Need a Hawk in here somewhere. Great 3-point shooter. Dude was successful multiple places. Won a championship in San Antonio as a starter. Probably going to be using his Portland version that played with Scottie.

I'll take Khris Middleton 2015. He has both the defense (third best wing defender in the league after Kawhi and Tony Allen according to stats) and the quick trigger 3 point shooting I wanted. And where he has the step on other 3 and D players is that you can't just stick a weak defender on him and forget about him, as he has a complete offensive game.

Sasha Vujacic

Yes.

2.4 FGA

Nat defensively, can play the 1 and 2, knows the triangle, can shoot it.

Only need 12 MPG out of him.

Good stuff.
