started to work as a waiter/do-everything-else-around-the-place-as-well in a restaurant in Latvia's largest resort town. respect to anyone who has done this for a prolonged period of time. I'm dog-tired and my legs are more exhausted than they have ever been due to basketball, per example.

Lamar is from Riga (I think). Riga is near the beach, but not quite there from what I can tell. I'm looking for a coastal city near Riga, since I assume Lamar didn't travel across the country. The obvious choice is a town called Jurmala. Here is what Wiki says about Jurmala

The city of Jūrmala actually consists of a string of small resorts. From west to east, these include Ķemeri, Jaunķemeri, Sloka, Kauguri, Vaivari, Asari, Melluži, Pumpuri, Jaundubulti, Dubulti, Majori, Dzintari, Bulduri and Lielupe.

The area now comprising the city of Jūrmala was formerly part of Riga, known as Rīgas Jūrmala. Some parts of the area, like Sloka and Ķemeri, have been known as health resorts for centuries. Jūrmala was once known in German as Riga-Strand, or "Beach of Riga".

Jūrmala's reputation as a spa destination began in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Wealthy landowners began the tradition of relaxing at the seaside, and Russian army officers came here to rest after the Napoleonic Wars, returning later with their families. The peak of the Jūrmala area's development was the opening of the Riga - Tukums railway in 1877 (which still passes through Jūrmala) that gave a great boost to the numbers of visitors, and thus a boost to the development of the town as a resort. Jūrmala also gained a reputation as a health spa. The sea breeze, pine aroma, mineral springs, and sandy beach encouraged many sanatoriums to develop within the city.

In Soviet times Jūrmala was popular with the Communist officials because of its beach and sanatoriums - holidays were also given as rewards for top union members. It became one of the most popular holiday destinations in the whole Union. The spas offered facilities from mud baths to riding therapy and hiking in the woods. In summer there are many concerts.

Jūrmala gained official status as a city in 1959. The railway line became electrified and today it features the most regular train service in Latvia.

OK, so we have narrowed down the town, now we need to find the restaurant, this will be next to impossible and come down to guessing the correct place out of 100s of choices.

My guess, Philippe Restaurant.

http://philippe.lv/

based off their menu http://philippe.lv/menu i would order the Butter Fried Monkfish

Did I win?

Jurmala is correct. However, it's neither one of those places.

A lot of people are predicting Ibrahimovic to head to the LA Galaxy after he leaves PSG when the season ends. You have no idea how awesome it'd be to have my favorite striker playing in a league where I could probably catch a game live.

Ibra is a rare type of modern striker who can single-handedly carry a decent team to be an elite team. I knew him since he still played for the Malmo FF. Thanks championship manager! Lol.

I started following him when he went to Juventus and was stoked when he joined Barca to play with my other favorite player Iniesta. Shame it never really worked out for him at the biggest stage in club soccer.

Ibra has a big ego, it wouldn't work for a team like Barcelona.

He would probably score 45 goals in MLS.

LA would have to do some maneuvering to get him though, already have the maximum DP's and the Union has his rights. Hopefully MLS's weird, and unneeded rules dont stop them from getting him.

It was awesome. Ibra scored the opening goal for PSG. I was there as a Chelsea fan, obviously, so seeing Ibra wasn't nearly as important to me as seeing Hazard, Oscar, Costa and that dirty trader Luiz etc. Game ended in a 1-1 tie and went to a shoutout which was gloriously won with a Courtois thunderbolt penantly to the upper left hand corner of the net. BOA stadium in Charlotte is a fantastic soccer stadium.

Here are full highlights

and the Courtois penatly for the win

I feel as though Ibra's talent would be wasted on the MLS. The dude is coming off a season where he was the top goalscorer in all of Europe..... I want to see him go to the EPL or back to Serie A (perhaps with AC Milan).

I can't really remember, but I had read somewhere that there was no possibility of him going back to AC Milan. Can't really remember why though.

I do think MLS is beneath him, but he is 34 now and all sorts of financially set so maybe the lifestyle and dominance over here would suit him? Wouldn't mind seeing him make another push in La Liga or the EPL though

there's not any "wink wink, you'll win" thing going on here but I'm not really popular on twitter with my podcast so... you have a decent chance of getting free stuff. (people outside the continental US would have to pay for shipping though)

fats won last time around (and had close to minimal competition). good chance for someone else to do the same with the Shawn Fury episode.
