I have a couple friends who work for Scout and they have watched Maker for years. Most believe he is all hype whose game has not grown in over two years.
I made sure to say 'Bear Down Arizona!' at the end of our broadcast. That was for Wildcat Nation. -NBC Anchor Brian Williams

I am becoming increasingly interested in taking either Skal or Deyonta Davis at 11 then hedging our bet and trading up into the late first to take Brice Johnson.

Yeah Maker is still very raw. He has size and athleticism but he still is more potential then substance. His range is anywhere from mid to late lottery to 60. No one is quite sure where to put him. He has to show up in workouts and do well to go in the first and there is still the question if he will even be available to draft.

Being a 19 year old 7 footer and not dominating high school is pretty discouraging.. Becoming known as overrated when you're still in high school is a red flag.. Not even trying to troll but we may have been interviewing him because we have two 2nd round picks

At 11 i would take a flyer on maker, gut feeling is telling me he can be something in the NBA, he has two-way potential

I think he is so far away from being useful that his rookie contract could be up before he saw any minutes.

I'm sure a team with multiple picks or a late 1st takes a gamble on him in the 1st round. But as a 2nd round pick he'd be every bit worth the gamble.

He needs a full season of D league action before going against NBA players though.

Utah big man Jakob Poeltl said he met with the Magic yesterday. He didn't know during the interview that Scott Skiles had resigned.

You may be right, but I'd take the raw guy who did 1 year at one of the best NCAA programs over the raw guy out of HS. The guy out of HS, needs to learn work ethic, weight room, travel, etc.. the college guy has a better grasp of this. IMO.
