Karius played an amazing season, though and could've left last season for free but resigned. I don't blame him if he leaves at all.

Good signing then?

Sure at that price. Made almost no mistakes this season.

He made a huge one today. But Kalou just didn't want to score, apparently :nonono:

Anyone here friends with cgf on Facebook? Did the Liverpool - Dortmund game really hurt him that hard?

why would bayern players show emotion for something they achieve annually?

To be fair, it's a quote by Kevin Großkreutz.

Well Mainz barely have 10 Bundesliga seasons now. What are you going to expect? That our best player is Lionel Messi?

If you look at the players produced or developed the resumee looks solid for such a short amount of time.
Schürrle - assisted the world cup winning goal two years ago, transfered for huge sums more than once
Subotic - starter in Dortmund for years including in the team that went to UCL final.
Geis - promissing young DM
Okazaki & Fuchs - starters for EPL winning team
Karius - certainly among the top 3 keepers in the league this season

To say the likes of Noveski, Friedrich or Voronin are the biggest Mainz 05 players ever is an incredibly dumb statement.
Well merited players, especially Noveski, but certainly neither the best nor the biggest (I'm not even sure what he means with biggest) players at Mainz 05. Voronin didn't even play a single game for Mainz in the Bundesliga. How the hell can he be considered the biggest Mainz 05 player ever? Sure did a great job of taking us into Bundesliga that one season, though.

I've been amazed by Fuchs this season. Can't believe we got him on a free. The guy is such an intelligent footballer and a great team man and motivator. He may not have been mentioned to much in the furore over Vardy, Mahrez and Kanté but he has been outstanding.

He has played well and they have the money. Would be surprising if they didn't buy him.

Heidel doing work already. Naldo joins Schalke for free. Good transfer. Should have another year or two in his legs.

Thoughts on the Naldo signing? He was one of the best CBs in the league two years ago, but I heard he had quite a downfall this year.

A defense is only as good as it's weakest link. And he was playing with unmotivated Ricardo Rodriguez (or Marcel Schäfer), Dante and Träsch (you even pronounce him like trash  )
Add in a chaotic midfield in front of them and it's a receipt for disaster.

Hard to gauge how much he still has left in the tank but it's a low risk move and he's an experienced CB who should be a decent backup for Höwedes/Nastasic at worst.

You can always rise up even if you had had a downfall. I still have faith in Naldo.

As usual when we finish well...team is getting picked apart again. Baumgartlinger to Leverkusen for just 4 mil. € on a release clause.
Karius to Liverpool will happen, too.

Yep, that's just what happens.

Nordtveit officially to West Ham as well.

BTW: Do we have a transfer thread for the smmer on the forums already?
