Trade Deadline

What do you think is our biggest need?

I like our starting pitching. I'd like to get a good 8th inning guy.

It's a little early for this. Lots will change in 2-3 months. Injuries could dictate what we need, assuming that we're a in the race and looking to add players.

- I would focus on late inning bullpen help. That's the big need. Everything else looks manageable.

- also I would look to dump Tulo if there us a taker. Cut our losses and lose the contract.

....... though if things are looking bad at the deadline. I would have a fire Sale. Build for next season and beyond. No point in dreaming of a miracle.

When the Jays traded for Tulo he was hitting .300 in Colorado coming off the heals of his only 1000+ OPS season. So trading him while he's the polar opposite won't be easy. The Jays pretty much have to ride him out until he regains his stroke. Martin too. Trading players from a position of weakness is generally a bad idea.

Don't think Shapiro will be buying and likely to be a seller when they falter. Jose and EE would obviously be the gems others might want, hoping they will offer up Dickey, Thole, Tulo, Martin, Cecil, Storen, Smoak, Cola.

Tulo has a no movement clause. he's untradeable.

I like how you pretend to know Shapiro's thoughts personally.

I also love how youre trading all the guys who are struggling right now, assuming they will be the same struggling players at the deadline

If the Jays fail by the deadline, it's horrible news for the fan base, ownership and players.

.... though for Shapiro it might be an opportunity to mold the team in his vision. Assuming they have a fire Sale.

Current roster is AA work. Shapiro gets a chance to rebuild with a very deep farm. Build from the bottom up like he did in Cleveland and put his stamp on it.

No?

I don't think a full rebuild is in order, even if this is a .500 team at the deadline. There are enough young, key pieces to this roster to build a good team around.

Unless he is amenable to being traded. And in a circumstance where we're willing to trade Tulo, it's probably to a team that he wouldn't mind joining.

Tulo was always rumored to be fascinated by the Yankees. They don't need him now, but then again the Mets were rumored to be hot for Tulo not long ago. Can we send Tulo to New York via the Mets?

Get it done.
