Vince showed more heart in the 50 pt. Game against Philly than Lowry has shown in his entire Raptors career.
I guess Lowry's 43 point game this year against the Cavs means nothing.
Or Lowry's 35 point, 9 rebound, 7 assists and 4 steals meant nothing.
Or Lowry's 29 points in the second half of game 3 including clutch shots meant nothing.
Or Lowry's Game 5 clutch 3 meant nothing.
Or Lowry's 34 point night in game 5 against Brooklyn in the playoffs two years ago including a clutch jumper to seal the game meant nothing.
Yeah I guess you are right.
You're lying. I never said they "mean nothing". But you also can't just cherry-pick games. That's why we use averages.
Vince was far better in the 2001 playoffs than Lowry in the 2016 playoffs. And Vince is a far better career playoff player than Lowry.
It's not even close. Go check the numbers for yourself.
Cherry pick games? All those games I mentioned are playoff games with the exception of the Cleveland game this year. Lowry shot poorly the first 2 rebounds (largely due to his elbow), but still impacts the game way more than Vince ever had.
Read this article here...it was before game 5 when Lowry had back to back games sof 36 and 35 points.
http://www.foxsports.com/nba/story/toronto-raptors-kyle-lowry-miami-heat-nba-playoffs-most-valuable-player-051316Defenses don't specifically strategize to shut him down, and his per-game numbers don't make you think Basketball-Reference.com transmitted a virus into your laptop. But, through one of the worst shooting slumps in NBA playoff history, Lowry remains one of the most valuable players still left in the postseason...What these numbers mean: When Lowry isn't on the court, Toronto's offense is less potent than the Philadelphia 76ers and its defense is flimsier than the Los Angeles Lakers. When he's on the floor, Lowry holds everything together, whether he's playing with starters or bench players (Toronto continues to crush everything in its path whenever Lowry is the only usual starter embedded with four reserves).
Among active players in the playoffs right now, Lowry has the best net differential, and that's despite his atrocious shooting until the last 2 games of the playoffs. He's ahead of both Draymond Green and Lebron. That's how important Lowry is to this team. He impacts the game in so many ways. It's no coincidence he led us not just to a franchise record 56 wins this year, but a franchise record 48 wins last year.
I'm not taking away anything from Carter, who was incredible, but Lowry impacts the game in more ways and is easily more valuable.
You also stated that Vince showed more heart in one game then Lowry did in his whole career. Are you really going to say that? The Vince Carter who cried everytime he got hurt and stayed on the floor like a pussy? The Carter who settled for jump shots and stopped driving to the basket? The Carter who said who admitted he didn't put his full effort with us? Are you really going to use "heart" as an argument? Everybody here could see Lowry was hampered by that elbow and he didn't make an excuse once. He fought and played great defense and continued to impact games despite his awful shooting. He just had a spectacular round 2 series and did everything on both ends, hit clutch shots, and sacrificed his body more then Wince Carter ever had.
