Tanking would have to start in Free agency... Simply adding Whiteside would change things for us dramatically.

IMO, if we lose the pick this season, we should be looking to trade our 2017 pick right now.

Lakers would owe their 2018 pick go Orlando so wouldn't be allowed to trade the 2017 pick.

We could if we managed to get a 2017 1st round pick from somewhere else.

The Stepien rule only prevents teams from trading 1st rounders in consecutive future drafts ONLY if it leaves the team without a 1st rounder.

The Lakers could acquire the 2017 30th pick in an entirely separate deal and still be able to trade away the unprotected 2017 1st rounder
