I liked Caris Lavert but apparently he is still 6 weeks away from working out for teams because of a chronic foot issue and will only interview prior to the draft. I also love Gary Payton 3 for tenacity and defense.

I know nothing about later draft picks because I don't watch college at all, but my philosophy has always been take the player with the most potential available with late picks. Especially because we have plenty of ready to contribute young players right now.

I think Thon Maker has to be in serious discussions for this pick if he's available. A very interesting prospect.

In terms of potential, Maker definitely tops the list. I have doubts he lasts till the second round though

I'd like us to consider Thon

he is raw and a bit of an idiot but he has potential to be something special and overall, just a good fit really. The Porzingis comparison wasn't for show either, it is somewhat accurate, he is behind Porzingis in terms of development but he could very well become that 3&D big man.

Malcolm Brogdon!

"He's a 6'5", 223 lbs SG that played for the Virginia Cavaliers. He's got a hand width of 10.25 inches which is elite for his size, a wingspan of 6'10.5". In his last season averaged 47% FG, 41% 3PT, 88% FT, 4.2 RPG, 2.8 APG, 0.9 SPG while leading the team at 18.4 PPG.
He is the first player in ACC history to win both ACC Player of the Year (2016) and ACC Defensive Player of the Year (2016) awards in the same season, he's also named the Division I Defensive Player of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). He was also ACC Defensive Player of the Year last year (2015), 3× First-team All-ACC (2014–2016), Consensus first-team All-American (2016), Consensus second-team All-American (2015), and a Finalist for the Naismith Award this year.
Brogdon led Virginia's second-ranked defense, which allowed just 60.1 ppg, often guarding the opponent's best player."

we usually go w experienced college guys here. not sure who fits the bill this year but i wouldnt count on younger high potential guys
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

Seeing as how we'll have a wing prospect with the #2, we should get a C prospect with the #32. A lot of good C prospects at that range (going by DX's list): Cheick Diallo, Zhou Qi, Diamond Stone, Stephen Zimmerman, Chinanu Onuaku, Thon Maker, Prince Ibeh, etc.

Bring them all in, let Madsen bang them up and pick the best guy.

As much as I enjoy Lavert's game, that injury history has him virtually undraftable for me. He's a late lottery level talent, but those medicals scare the hell out of me. I'd stay away from him at 32 tbh.

Good point. I can see Georges Niang, Caris LeVert, and Kay Felder topping the list then

Guys i think will be gone by 32 but would be very happy with...

1. Cheick Diallo (1st)
2. DeAndre Bembry (1st)
3. Malachi Richardson (1st)
4. Thon Maker (1st)

Big men at 32:

Zhou Qi (my choice)
Pascal Siakam
Chinanu Onuaku
Ivica Zubac
Ante Zizic
AJ Hammons (senior center)

SF

Michael Gbinije
Dorian Finney-Smith

SG

Gary Payton II
Malcolm Brogdon
Patrick McCaw
Ron Baker
AJ English

My hope is we draft one of Diallo/Maker/Bembry at 32.

I think Bembry could help right away for us and would be a very versatile plyr in the rotation, also is a junior
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust

the last time we dreamt of Looney, Hunter, etc.. Mitch bring us Nance (who the hell he is at that time?) and Anthony Brown (also relatively unknown) which turned out great.

i believe in Mitch

Melo Trimble. Russell and Melo would be raining threes all day.

Ain't even worried about it... 32's right in Mitch's wheel-house.

I'd love Zhou Qi, i think we'll have the stuff to develop him, esp with out injury prevention advances. At that frame, he'll need all those advanced sports science tools at his disposal. If he could just get to Rudy Gobert's weight (238) he'd be just fine barring injuries, he's got such a great skill set and looks to be an awesome shot blocker if he can add weight
