Skiles' resignation has some people calling us Sacramento-East. Imagine if we had instead fired him for taking a bottom-5 team - with the 2nd youngest roster in the league - and getting them into the playoff hunt? Midway through his first season? As a former fan favorite?

We would be Sacramento-East. And Hennigan probably would've been fired for dumping two head coaches in a year (I won't count Borrego). I know some fans despised the Skiles hiring, but with the team improving, it didn't make much sense for Hennigan to pull the plug the very first time Skiles had a bad losing streak. With our young roster, a dry spell was probably going to happen at some point, anyways.

And to both Skiles and the team's credit, they didn't pack it in after that. They played hard, beat a couple of playoff teams down the stretch, and finished with their heads held high.

With that said...I wasn't a big fan of the Skiles hiring. Wherever he goes, he never seems to leave on good terms.

Exactly!

SVG was a coach I cared about and wanted us to keep but I could give two **** about Skiles.

Still, this is a very public business where reputations and relationships matter. Firing Skiles this summer would have been an incredible mistake. Anyone who doesn't see that will never rise above a middle management desk job.

Except Henny didn't dump Skiles. He quit.

Maybe Skiles read the petition and decided he was "not the right head coach for this team"...? :o

sacramento east my azz, they been in the lotto for like a decade, we're closer than people think. we lost 21 games this year 5 points or less, we win half those we would've been in the playoffs.
