after borrego, i've become a bit leery of long-time assistants with "leadership studies" degrees. it's kinda like reading the resume of a guy who has a stack of fancy i.t. certifications but has spent several years only working junior level positions. seems "off".
I think JV would be a better person to mention here. Borrego had barely any time as a head coach, and it came at an awkward time. Hard to judge him properly.
