Assuming simmons and ingram are off the board, do you trade okafor for celtics #3 pick.

FYI I said Hell no because I feel okafor is much more valuable than anyone after simmons and ingram, and arguably as valuable as simmons/ingram

Nope. If they threw in next year's nets pick...I am listening at least. I refuse to give them a stud like Okafor for a lesser prospect.

I would think hard about Noel though.

It would have to be a significant package of which the third pick this year is just one part before even listening. The third pick this year isn't remotely equivalent to last year.

i would trade noel for #3 pick, but dont think he has that much value. its his contract year, so he wont be cheap after this season, and he didnt take a big leap offensively last year

It would have to have more value but if a big has to be moved he's my preference.

You have to be smart here. If Embiid gets injured again and we have no Okafor, this franchise will be severely set back. Besides you have to watch all of these pieces play together first before deciding who to cut.

Id probably pass for #3 straight up. It would certainly be tempting IF we drafted Simmons, but Id hate to trade Okafor away to a division opponent and have to deal with him every year for the next decade.

Okafor isn't a perfect prospect, and has some improving to do (Specifically on the Defensive end and rebounding) but he's a 20 year old kid with an extreme amount of offensive talent. If he puts 2+2 together over the next few seasons, he could be an absolute dominant big man.

Id much rather shop Noel, but I guess we will see how the chips fall into place.

No. I don't see a big gap between #3 and say #15 talent wise. We could easily get a late lotto/early teens pick with a much lower price. If we aren't trading Okafor for Brooklyn's unprotected pick before the lottery, why would we do it now when the pick is significantly less attractive than it was

I voted yes but changed my mind. 3 for Okafor is certainly not enough and to the Celtics also has me thinking no. Hate for him to terrorize us 4 times a year especially if embiid is unable to stay healthy.

While I agree to an extent, but how is it a severe set back? Also who are you drafting?

With a trade:
C-Noel/Injured Embiid
F-Simmons
F-Covington/Saric
G-?
G-#3 Pick (Murray/Hield/Dunn)

Without a trade:
C-Noel/Okafor/Injured Embiid
F-Simmons
F-Covington/Saric
G-?
G-?

I don't see how its much further off. If Embiid gets hurt again, its gonna suck no matter what we do. Even in that scenario, You still have a position battle between Noel/Okafor and only 1 year left on Noel's deal.
Would we be better off moving Noel?
Are we that much better off with Okafor/Noel/Simmons or Ingram compared to say Noel/Simmons/Jamal Murray? or Noel/Ingram/Dunn?

Its all depends on who we draft tho honestly. Ingram and I think Okafor becomes a keeper. Simmons and I think he's probably got to be moved.

That's what I'm afraid of as well - Okafor's best games were against teams and players he had grudges against and it would scare me having to see him 4 times a year for the next decade or so. If I'm trading him than I'd look at Phoenix, ship him out West.

SO we fear playing against Okafor, but yet so many of us want him shipped out?

I really don't get it.

We can't keep Embiid/Noel/Okafor all together for the entire duration of their rookie deals and expect them to realistically 1.develop properly and 2.retain the value of a top 5 pick.

I feel like people think we can wait and see who develops the best and then just flip a switch and get the perfect deal for them.Every year that passes, people find more to nit pick and the value is likely lowered.

Okafor is the best offensive weapon we have, Him & Joel need to be our Z-Bo/Marc Gasol...Simmons should be feeding the both of them easily on postup opportunities & drives

I don't want him traded, but if it happens I'd prefer never to see him again, lol.

Out west would definitely be less worrisome but what comes with the 4th pick for okafor? I'd imagine Booker wouldn't be on the table.

I don't see how Embiid/Okafor/Simmons realistically fit on the floor at the same time.

i want simmons, but i see why he would create a logjam with saric, embiid, and simmons coming in this year

having said that, the matchup problems we would create would be absolutely ridiculous if we keep them all (except noel)

okafor with his post moves and soft touch
embiid with his range and all-around game
simmons with his slashing and passing
saric with his shooting and passing

literally skilled big bodies to throw all game on offense

They have the 13th pick (we could include 24 or 26), they also have a lot of guards besides Booker - Bledsoe, Knight, Warren.
