Ross signed an extension that kicks in next season. He's a good shooter to have off the bench. Not so much as a starter.

Bazemore is one option. I'm really not that enamored with him because I'd prefer a better shooter, but I'd take him over KCP if the money is similar and we can't get anyone better, because he's just as capable defensively but gives you better shooting and rebounding too.
Beal won't be cheaper but he'd be a perfect fit, and paying a little extra to get the right guy is usually a good move.
Fournier and Crabbe are options who I think would be better fits for this system, and the price for RFAs in this market is likely to be less than it will be next year when the cap increases again. So KCPs deal next year will probably cost more than they will now.
There's also the option of using the 18th pick on a SG like Valentine or Beasley. They probably won't be better than him right away, but this is about longterm and who will be better/fit better 2-3 yrs from now. Both could be and would be cheaper too.
We could also possibly use KCP with that pick to move up for an even better prospect. Or try to deal both for an established SG like Middleton (or use KCP in a sign & trade for Beal).
None of these options are guaranteed of course, but we do have other options we can pursue and don't have to spend big money on a player who isn't an ideal fit just to fill that position.
Non of those guys are clearly better tho, and have big weaknesses and negatives. Why not just develop KCP than prey for a FA who we would have to overpay to get or trade him for some guy in the draft who is a big question mark.
Beal and Bazemore are clearly better imo. Fournier and Crabbe are clearly better fits offensively. All signings are gambles/all players have weaknesses, but some weaknesses are harder to develop than others. Not often do poor shooters become great. Poor defenders get developed into great team defenders all the time though with the right coaching/system. So I just think it's wiser to get a guy who is already a great shooter and develop his defense vs trying to develop a defender into a shooter.
Agree on the draft. I'd prefer to go with an already established guy if possible. Terrence Ross is another RFA to consider.
KCP is easily just as good as Bazemore with a decent 3pt shot. Beal is constantly injured, the others don't defend and we have one of the worst defending PGs in the league so we need so defense around him.
Plus bad shooters can learn to shoot we have one on the team. Shoot Kent Bazemore isn't some great shooter either. Like I said if KCP would have just shot 34% from three this year he would have had a .54 ts.

KCP will be fine and if not we will worry about it next season when his contracts due. If he doesn't show improvements this season in efficiency then we may have to consider replacing him but not yet.

Your ignorance regarding who are/aren't good defenders is showing again, and it's becoming clear that you're judging players by stereotypes and not actually watching them.
He's a smart team defender and his constant motion on offense helps to wear down his opponent on the other end. I know that is a difficult concept for you to understand, but offense does in fact effect defense. A great offensive player who is a good team defender can be just as effective defensively as a great individual defender.

Don't worry about that guy, he trolls.
While I disagree and think that most of your list would result in a 5-10 game drop due to Reggie being forced to waste his energy guarding better players, I appreciate your stance. Plus it's pretty much a moot point, considering KCP's still on the rookie deal, and unless we get Butler, there's no sense trading him. All that, and it is the month of May......

Your reading comprehension is exposed again. Where I said Redick was a bad defender little man?

So one of the most hilarious poster about his bb knowledge here calls me a troll. That's great.
