I want to ask the more advanced board members.
Why are 100+ page threads locked to create new ones? Is it something to due with memory, bandwith, etc?

First, they don't lock them.
Second, there have been longer threads, like MVP discussion thread last year. This one even went on for 243 pages.

Thanks for the input. I've noticed certain Stickied threads last but I've also noticed that Mods ask the OP to create new threads when 100+ on Team Boards and on the GB. I guess I'm asking why do we have Part 2+ threads?

Yes they generally do, there are exceptions like when a thread is being constantly posted in, like a game thread.
Best guess is that threads over 100 pages slow down the site.

Re: Thread Length
It's just policy and concerns mostly hosting and server issues.
Some game threads can go above but we try to lock them before that happens.
