**** Turner can't go from 1st to home on a double any more.

beyond annoying.
stick with the youth movement Friedman.

I say he did his job getting us to the 5th inning with only one run given up so far, although he's got two on the bases as he leaves.

his pitch count ain't bad tho, Magic Mike's got at least another inning in him.

Turner is an admirable stopgap player, 3rd base is always the hardest to fillfor this team especially since Beltre left.

this team is too **** frustrating to watch.

7-8 years ago, I would have thrown some kind of object against the wall.

All while SF is on a 6 or 7 game winning streak.

Going to be an elite hitter if he lives up to the hype.
Solid glove at SS, not elite but we'll pretend that isn't the case because we love the bat and love him.
Probably going to swear by him no matter what kind of season Russell, Lindor, or Correa are having.

if Jeter and Green had a baby, first of all, Green would be now suffering from herpes, and secondly, the baby would be a one ugly kid.

Ryu has to be healthy and good man. He can take June to get his bearings straight but he has to be nails July, August, and September to back Kershaw up.

Ranma, you're on twitter.
Can you bug one of these Dodger beat writers to get the scoop on Montas? I wanna know wth is up. Being mum about it isn't good enough for me.

by July, Brandon McCarthy should be ready. by August, Brett Anderson should be coming back. our rotation going into the playoffs should be stacked.

I am not quite ready to start a "fire-so and so" campaign any time soon but Dave is really starting to test my patience... or logic for that matter for this move.

Chase better have some minor injury like a stiff back or something.

You trust McCarthy to be quality and have command of his stuff in his 1st year back from TJS?

Srs question.
I don't but I can use all the optimism possible right now.

Just went fishing for a tweet on why utley was pulled.

Can't find a possible explanation for it.
Hopefully we learn this move wasn't o dumb after all.

given his last AB was a ground rule double.

not that I believe McCarthy to be a some sort of a savior of our season, but I believe in stocking up on depth with proven quality to gain favors in our odds.

Ryu is almost back. we all know what he was like when he was sorta healthy, as he came from South Korea wth that bum shoulder to begin with. maybe 100% healthy Ryu could surpass that old Ryu. if he could give us 80% of that old Ryu, he would still be better than Wood and Stripling.

McCarthy was a solid middle of the rotation guy, a poor man's #2 guy. if he is 90% back, he should be better than Wood/Stripling.

Anderson led the entire majors in gruond ball % last season. if he is 100%, he should be better than Wood and Stripling.

Magic Mike just came back and when he was on the mound, he only had given up 1 run in 4 1/3 innings.

then there are Wood and Stripling.

then there are Brandon Beachy(is he still with us?), Urias, DeLeon, and Montas. surely we will have someone to pitch behind/in betwwen/ ahead of Kershaw-Maeda-Kazmir trio.
ehhhhh f it.

I'm hoping McCarthy is serviceable fam. I expect some up and down in his performance but I'm hoping it is more good than bad. Him and Ryu can't get here fast enough.

Hopefully that kicks bummy Howell out of the pen and Wood can take over his sspot.....except he'll actually get LHH out.

I think im going to start a campaign.
We have to get Howell and Crawford off this team.

My Responses

Post#1139 » by Ranma » Thu May 19, 2016 5:17 am

I missed most of the game because I was stuck in traffic taking my roommate to LAX, but he missed his flight, so we'll try again tomorrow morning. I've been slow to catch up on some posts but here are my responses to some recent posts.

Quake Griffin wrote:don't think Magic Mike has much tonight.

I'm not expecting very much from Bolsinger, but it does allow for Maeda to get more rest. I posted in the Maeda thread that his struggles have come when he pitches every 5th day while he continues to be excellent pitching on 6 days of rest or more. The adjustment to the pitching routine was a concern when we signed him so it's not unexpected even if Roberts and Maeda are trying to downplay it.

Quake mentioned it earlier and I didn't connect the dots, but I guess Captain Clutch has been known to spread his infected seed to many well-known starlets along with the future Mrs. Jeter, Hannah Davis. The guy sure gets around. What a mimbo (Seinfeld reference)!

I haven't seen any updates about Frankie Montas. In fact, in a recent podcast by Dustin Nosler and Jared Massey, they answered a twitter question stating that there had been no word on Montas. I just tweeted 4 beat writers but they don't always answer back. If I get a response, I'll post it here.
