I'd still feel the same as I do now. 71 points isn't enough.

I'm amazed how fans can be so negative about finishing second in the Prem.

It's better than you've done in a long while. It makes you sound like children or plastic supporters.

We basically see it as par for the course, this is what Arsenal have been the last decade....pretty much. PL was mediocre this season is why Arsenal finished in 2nd. It wasn't like they finished with 80 points and got nicked for the title.

I am not here defending Arsenal because this year has been a disappointment.
But why is the PL mediocre? because of the points total? doesnt that highlight the strength of the premier league? outside of astona villa, has there really been an easy fixture?

Just felt like there were more mediocre/decent teams than really good teams this season. It could be that there is more parity than it's been and we could be looking at the new norm...or it was an off year for teams like Chelsea and Manchester City and they'll be back near the top again. I guess we'll see how it unfolds next season.

Finishing second is merely a trivial statistic, it doesn't represent how poor we've been. We were abymal to watch and Spurs have played better football all year. They choked when it mattered most and I am tremendously happy that they did, but at least they were in it till the finish. After they got knocked out of the title race they didn't even bother to show up against Newcastle. If they had, we'd have finished third behind them and Leicester and it would have been an accurate representation. Meanwhile board and staff keep stressing our ambitions but even in the most open season in ages we got nowhere close to competing.

So, no, it hasn't been a satisfying year. Second place doesn't sound all that bad if you generalise it, but apply a little nuance and emphathy to the situation and you would have understood my frustration.

A thousand times this.

It was a competitive league this season. Leicester ran away with it but other than that you couldn't ever be sure who'd win on a weekly basis.

I think some people think it was mediocre because Leicester won it. :noway:

I've come to hate watching this Arsenal team, and i've never been disgusted by how an Arsenal team plays until this year. Thats all I'll say about this season and I hope to forget it.

okay.

I've watched some very poor Leicester teams over the last 50 years but there's always something to remember. Hope you re-find your love for them soon.

oh i'll be ecstatic about them in a month , always am. Right when NBA season ends and the fixture list comes out I just can't wait to watch them again. My support for them never wavers ...I just dont like a lot of things about the club right now , the manager , and the fans that fight each other every weekend it seems.

I mean we don't compete but at least I had fun watching us .. even thats gone lol and I know it seems rich for an Arsenal fan to complain about that when lots of other fan bases would trade places in an instant ... but man , this year just broke me lol

It was Bild and they know sh***.
Raphael Hornstein also deleted all his tweets about the figures and felt terrible of ever mentioning them.

BTW: There are some reports that Xaha's currently in London. If so, it would be to take the medical etc.

BBC and Telegraph now saying it's done at 25m+5m bonus = 40m Euros.

Yeah, and RP Online still talkes about at least €40M.
We'll never know the real numbers but no matter what, he'll net us more than twice as much as we got for Reus four years ago.

Now that Xhaka appears done, time to focus on a striker.

How much truth in the reports of Ox to Leicester?

I think that'd suit him, his career has gone into reverse over the last couple of years.

Can't see Wenger selling him unless he really needs a bit more cash to use on the market.

I doubt it to be honest. I think Wenger still has faith in him but the injuries just kill any progress he makes and sends him backwards every time.
