Actually, Every one is talking about better athleticism, passing, court vision, finishing with both hands and rebounding in Simmons
His major flaw was his shooting which could easily be coached and adjusted.
Ingram has a special frame although too thin at this stage, great basketball IQ, a comprehensive offensive skill set and is a fluid shooter.

Although shooting can be taught and we can see a lot of examples where players became decent shooter after a few years of adjustment and practice. Seldom of them can be a great shooter like kover, durant and reddick who was like born to shoot the ball well.

I am just curious how differently they are in terms of their attitude, competitiveness and mindset towards basketball. Has anyone of them got the killer instinct, mentality and the ability to deal with high pressure etc. These are also something that could not be taught, same as court vision.

I do agree that drafting anyone of them would fit in with the current roster well. Simmons can be the playmaker and Dlo will take up the scorer role. Randle being Randle and Nance being a backup PF and C. Simmons have the athleticism to guard SFs I think? If we got Ingram, obviously, he will be the scorer while Dlo's court vision and passing ability will be emphasized and nurtured.

What right choice??? They will take the one the falls to #2. This is the easiest decision they will have to make this offseason. I think we are over thinking this, the Lakers pick 2nd...

They aren't without options. They could trade the pick away. They could trade down for future consideration. There's many things they can do. Acting like taking Philly's leftovers is their only option is a bit shortsighted.

Calling the one that falls to #2 "Philly's leftovers" is a bit short sighted. While there are many things they can do, who gets picked isn't a concern. If a team agrees to a trade with the Lakers that involves the #2, it won't be for Bender or Dunn, etc......

Shooting is probably one of the easier aspects that can be improved but that is probably the sole reason Simmons went from a consensus number 1 pick to now 50/50. He looks like he may have regressed as a shooter.

Obviously I shouldn't be making one to one comparisons to these guys as Simmons played plenty of Center in college and these guys didn't but look at other somewhat poor 3pt shooters in the league but still have decent range out to 18 feet like Andre Iguodala, Dywane Wade, Demar Derozan. They attempted much more 3pt attempts at their final season in college then Simmons did. If it wasn't for his other advanced perimeter skills, he would be looked at as any other big man in college and there would be no expectation of him developing a perimeter shot. It's a reason why he was looked at as a future bonifide 3 man in the NBA to a guy who is now more of a 4.

Again, different players and different positions but if he at least attempted 36 three point attempts like Demar Derozan or 73 like Andre Iguodala did in his last year, even at a poor % there would be more confidence in his perimeter game in the NBA and he would still at least be a near consensus at going number 1. But there is a reason he played Center in college.

Simmons can be the more dynamic player, Ingram probably a "safer" pick. I'd be happy with either guy.

I see a lot of Blake Griffin in Simmons. Did he have a jumper in college? I think Simmons is better with the ball and as a passer.

I wonder if he can play 5 for us.

Interesting to watch nance, randle and simmons sharing the floor with 2 shooters.

During an appearance on The Mike Missanelli Show on 97.5 The Fanatic, Colangelo offered up a detailed scouting report of the 19-year-old's skill-set and how it might mesh with the players currently on the Sixers' roster.

"I don't look at Ben Simmons as just a pure-four," Colangelo said. "I look at him as a ball-handling four. I look at him as a guy who is going to distribute the basketball and initiate the offense. I think there are a number of arguments that can be constructed with him.

"He sets teammates up for scoring opportunities. He's really good on the grab-and-go. He grabs rebounds and runs the break, runs the transition and distributes the basketball. He drives and kicks. He finds the basketball. We just have to put adequate shooters around him."

If we get Ingram, a scorer, then I would hope the Lakers trade Clarkson.

Hey guys, new poster long time lurker on Realgm. Very happy we get to keep the pick with the opportunity to draft a special player in Ingram 1-A or Simmons 1-B and hoping the player we select turns out to be the best player of the two. I hope we don't trade such player for a star on another team but develop the young pieces we have in place in Russell, Clarkson, Randle, Nance and the 2nd pick hopefully Ingram and adding two top free agents to balance the roster and adding talent to the team will be huge for the Lakers going forward. I'm Looking forward to a very bright future ahead and to the haters who hopped for many more years of mediocrity with this team, no such luck to ya'll. Go Lakeshow!!

I'd rather go two of the three you mentioned and 3 shooters.

Something tells me the Lakers are going to cash him in at the trade deadline next year.

It would be interesting to start Ingram at the 2 if LA drafts him and assuming they get Durant/Derozan at the 3.

We draft Simmons if Ingram is taken at 1.

We keep him.

We let the players grow together and work on their games.

That's it.

Move him to the bench where he belongs and trade Lou. Addition by subtraction both to team morale and performance.

I hope we trade Lou. Having said that I'm not that hopeful considering there was not a single rumor or discussion about him around the trade deadline last year.

Lou may look more attractive when crazy contracts start being handed out to similar impact players.

Didn't Jim name Lou as part of their core?

You think after making it to the WCF and winning game 1 that Durant's going to leave? If they don't get swept the rest of the way, I'd have a hard time seeing why he would. That team seems one player away from being a juggernaut.

I'm just assuming. That's why I put Derozan there. Anything can happen. Its just that its really interesting if Luke will play Ingram at the 2 if he's the pick.

Want peoples thoughts on this line-up

PG- D'Angelo Russell
SG- Jordan Clarkson
SF- Brandon Ingram
PF- Julius Randle
C- Meyers Leonard

My thoughts is well I know the defense will be bad. But with this line-up you have potentially three 40% 3 point shooters with Russell, Ingram and Leonard. Then you have 2 slashers with Clarkson and Randle. You can pick and roll or pop all day long with this lineup. You can bring in some defense with Noah or someone like him.
